A few of us were talking about this place at work and had never tried it before so we decided to pop over during lunch to try some different sodas. 3 of us ordered sodas and one had a frappe and we all liked the drinks we had and would definitely return to try different flavors. This place is like days gone by when you could go to a soda counter and have different flavors mixed in front of you. They also make many different pizzas that we are going to have to try sometime.

They also have rubber ducks hidden throughout the dining area which was fun, and a nice outdoor patio which we sat on to enjoy our drinks.

The Pop Stand is in Harlan Indiana

By recommendation, and I’m so happy to have found it, I present to you, The Pop Stand.

The couple that opened this spot started out thinking they were going to sell mostly dirty sodas (I know it sounds funny, it’s just a description for adding different flavors and sometimes cream to regular pop to create new flavors)
They needed to do something a little extra and landed on selling pizzas, grinders, and salads.

The pizza shown here is called the SR 37. Obvious if you know the area, but it stands for State route 37. It’s similar to what someone might call a supreme. It has a few different items than standard. It has a nice mix of pepperoni, large pieces of sausage, onion, peppers, olives, a good sprinkle of crushed red pepper, and finally garlic.

They make their own dough and cut all of the vegetables fresh daily. The bottom of the crust was a little light in color, but they use an 800 degree oven, so just a few seconds makes a huge difference. The crust was light and crispy with a good chew.

My pizza was loaded with toppings but didn’t feel obnoxiously heavy like some do. Check out the price on the menu. All their pizzas are 14 inch and this one was $13!

I had to try a dirty soda while I was there. After some deliberation, there are so many choices, I ended up with the Marshmallow Man. It has mug root beer, vanilla, and cream. It doesn’t come out in the prettiest color, but the flavor was excellent. The best way I can describe it is something like a melted root beer float. Absolutely try this one!

Towards the end of my visit, Bethany brought out a drink flight. They’re still working on finding the right cups and pricing for this. It was so cool to try four different flavors without committing to a whole drink.
The final product should be worked out soon.

They do offer free popcorn in the dining room and a nice selection of local along with some name brand potato chips.

During lunch hours, they do sell pizza by the slice. As affordable as the pizzas are, I would buy a whole one and have leftovers.

They are still pretty new, so be patient if the service isn’t super quick. It’s worth the wait.

As you can see in the photos, there’s also a very fresh patio with a nice wall to keep down some of the traffic noise. I’m pretty sure they said it’s pet friendly.

Have you visited The Pop Stand?
Definitely give them a try. If you remember, tell them I sent you. ❤️

We finally got to try out the Pop Stand. We ordered the Susie Q (BBQ Chicken), without the pickles. It was excellent! My son ordered the pepperoni pizza and enjoyed it as well. My wife got the Tractor pop, which was Sprite w/Granny Smith Apple & Lime. She loved it!! We will be eating here again.

Such a fun place. There are many fun and unique drinks to choose from. We all 4 loved ours. We also ordered the Hawaiian pizza and it was delicious. Hopefully as they grown they will serve to stay pizza on the pan so you don’t have to mess with the box at your table. I highly recommend a visit for any family and especially for those with teens.

We were so pleased with how quick our food came. We had a total of 12 people and the food came out all together. It is a cute dinning area, with great food and delicious flavored drinks.

Pizza was actually pretty good. Had the Smokehouse. The issues started with the guy working not being able to cut a pizza. Took it back up to the counter to be cut again. The young lady was nice and apologized twice. When asked if he cut the pizza , he answered her with attitude and seemed like it was an inconvenience to do his job correctly. Three people working and food particles under every table and host stand. Popcorn laying on floor by Popcorn maker. It was only me and my wife in the dining room. Could not believe that not one of the employees working would pay a little attention to detail and clean. This visit was 1/17/26 12 noon.

The pop stand offers a great opportunity to eat and drink like never before. There are a bunch of different options for pop and pizza though the pop is the main part of going there they don’t try any less on their pizza. The pizza is delectable the cheese is perfectly melted and it does take a little longer than most places but that because they spend extra time and effort on it. It may be messy sometimes but that’s after their lunch rush which is around 11-11:30am. I would eat there everyday if I could. People if you’ve never had it what are you doing with your life. TRY IT!!!
