Honestly didn’t even know the place existed I wanted to try China Panda but they were closed on Mondays and didn’t feel like driving all the way to Rochester for my favorite Chinese food. So I found happy City ordered over the phone & the lady could barely speak any English but we got the order done correct. She didn’t tell me a total but it’s whatever. I get there and I was shocked by how it looks, one table and three chairs, a big square hole in the wall ♀️ I could see into the kitchen & I could tell they barely clean in there! It was very dirty looking for what I could see into the kitchen however ; I go home & my food was great huge portions, I only ordered crab rangoons chicken fingers and white rice very easy to make however they were very good and huge portions ♀️

The beef terriaki was way to well done, the boneless spareribs were cut way to thin and well done. The fried rice was dry as valley powder. The priced were way to high for dinner. We will never order from there agan!

I deliver food as a second job. Not sure how the food is but I know that it is by far the dirtiest restaurant I have picked up a delivery from so far. There’s no dining in option and just a small opening in the wall to pick up orders at. The lobby area looked like it hadn’t been cleaned for years. Dirt path permanently stained on floor from door to pick up window. Cobwebs hanging from the ceiling like party decorations. Broken appliances just collecting in the lobby. The pick up window allows you to see a sitting area for the employees which was filthy. You could also see into the kitchen. White walls stained brown with grime and scum built up everywhere, floor was swept but they must have a round broom and mop that completely misses corners because food and dirt lined the edges of the floor. Employees clothes looked like they’ve been wearing them for weeks including her brown socks that she was wearing with thong style sandals. Customer service was terrible. Very rude. I strongly recommend that no one ever eats here because you’re taking the chance of getting really sick. I could only imagine what the unseen parts of the kitchen where the food is prepared and cooked looks like.

We ordered a pupu for 2 and lo mein to give the place a try, wish I read reviews 1st because the portions for the pupu were very small. We spent 40 bucks and after we ate started to feel sick. Pretty sure it gave us food poisoning. Would not recommend.

I haven’t visited here. Therefore I can’t give a review on the atmosphere.
What I can say is the delivery guy is very kind and efficient.
The manager goes above and beyond. I once was short 7$, and she said not to worry. Just bring it in when you have it. Not too many businesses do this today. Ever since then, Happy City One has been my “go to” place for Chinese cuisine!

I have to say that I’m very picky with my Chinese food wants. My top pick is Pink Bamboo in Portsmouth. But we’ve moved to Somersworth. We tried a couple places here and was not happy. Tonight I decide to try Happy City. It is now definitely up on my favorite places. The quality, texture, and flavor were spot on with what I love and expect. Loved everything I ordered. Food was ready for pick up very fast.

Some locals recommended this place to me, said they were fantastic. The place looked very rundown, chips in the paint over the hole in the wall for ordering and nothing at all in the dining area but a table with some magazines on it…but I decided to give it a go anyway. (Not even your basic paintings and Chinese decor…looked liked they were about to shut down entirely)
Going here was a big mistake. I ordered a basic chicken with broccoli combo, pretty easy, right? Wrong. The chicken with broccoli was overly saturated with sauce. The broccoli was clearly fresh and the only decent thing about the meal, the chicken was weirdly soft and strange. It was basically swimming in salty brown liquid.
The egg roll had a weird taste and was basically just fried cabbage. How can a Chinese restaurant screw up an egg roll of all things??
The fried rice was the biggest disappointment. Far too much soy sauce and just a few pieces of pork. No veggies or anything. Basically a salt lick.
The combo said 10.95 but they charged me 12.95. It was awful. Never again.

Typical Chinese food quality, expensive prices for smaller servings.
Example: Orange Flavored Beef
Here it is 22.50.
At Saigon and Tokyo it is 15.50.
So for 22.50 is it better?
Nope.
Do you get a bigger portion for the extra money?
Nope.
Actually I’d estimate you get 33% to 50% LESS orange beef for 7 dollars more.
Somehow they have smaller plastic trays for their food orders than I’ve seen anywhere else.
Update: I hadn’t actually eaten the food yet when I wrote this.
The shrimp fried rice was dry and disgusting. The orange flavored beef and beef and broccoli had very thick globby disgusting gravy. Egg rolls were gross and mushy inside.
It was very disappointing and disgusting overall for New Years dinner. All that love and it only cost my 90 bucks. YAY!
