Okay so overall it is a pretty great plus location is great since once done can walk around.
Service/Atmosphere is almost perfect but not there since if inside a little to dark which I understand that is what it’s going for and also depends on where you are seated.Outside is pretty decent but depends on weather and staff.
Now on to the main subject, went heavy on starters and sides. Food: Cajun Bourre Eggs are great love that no egg yolk, aftertaste, and the seasoning was great. Sides: Side Salad was actually a pretty decent portion and their selection of dressings are nice, Fried Green Tomatoes were great as well perfectly fried(sometimes some places over cooked them or unde no such use here). Creole Frien Okra, was also good seasoning great and no breading issue. Smoked Gouda Grits, was actually surprisingly light expected it to be overly greasy but no such thing. Main(Roux) Entree: Mardi Gras Pasta, portion wise is big, taste wise was very nice since depending on what you bite on will chance the taste. What I mean eating just the chicken with everything gives it smooth taste while when eating with coneccuh sausage it gives it a stronger taste then to change things doing shrimp.
Suggestion if going there to eat make sure you are hungry since in all honesty you could probably be full with just a starter and a side since their portions are great.
Side note their “Entrees” most of them are pair with a side and to change it their is an up charge. Say most since like two items don’t have a side or allow to pick one. You can pick everything yourself if pick the fish.

What an absolute wonderful place to dine! We love Cajun food and we’re thrilled with our experience here this evening! Not only were the staff exceptional and the atmosphere wonderful, but the food was the closest we’ve found here locally to remind us of NOLA! We had the Canard Coaches (bacon wrapped duck breast with jalapeño and cream cheese) to start, followed by our entrees: the Redfish Rockefeller and the Mardi Gras pasta! The redfish dish was beautiful and delicious, but the star of the table was the pasta! More heavily (but still tastefully) seasoned, it possessed an abundance of cheese and flavors. This was a fantastic dining experience all around and we will definitely be back many more times!

So I’ve heard so much about this place and I was eager to try it. The crawfish tails were seasoned perfectly. I think if the seasoning on the Catfish plaquemine and Mardi Gras pasta was ramped up just a tad bit it would be a 5/5 for me. I found myself having to add salt but once I added salt it was right there. My server Pam was amazing and very attentive. I think overall the food was great and atmosphere was great. Food came out very fast. But don’t take my word for it come see try for yourself. Later foodies

Perfectly cooked fried food! Better than in New Orleans. The seafood platter was huge. It is for about 3 people. The alligator, the oysters, the cat fish, the shrimp, the hush puppies and the fries were perfectly cooked and the taste was delicious!
The Abita strawberry beer was very good!

As major Cajun food fans, we were eager to check this place out. The line was out the door and it took 40 minutes for a table to become available. Normally we would not have waited but it smelt amazing!
The service was top notch at every point of our evening. The hostesses were attentive and friendly and our waitress was extremely down-to-earth. She never let our drinks get low!
The environment was kinda “low-key-pub” feel. It was comfortable and not as packed in and crowded as I expected considering it was a full house.
The food was overall good but it is not Cajun in any sense of the word. Please be aware of this if you go. We had the duck appetizer (this was delicious). My husband’s gumbo and red beans and rice were more soup than we were expecting but the flavor was nice. My son had a burger done medium-well and it was perfect and large. His fries, however, were hollow and almost chip-like. I had a chicken dish that was delicious but a little plain for what it had in it. My aunt had a pasta dish. I think we all agreed that the blackened shrimp was the star of any dish it appeared in!
If you are looking for a nice place for a date or celebratory meal, this would be a good choice.
Key things to keep in mind:
-Parking is limited in the front but the parking garage in the back had plenty of space. It’s a short walk around the corner.
-Prices are around $20 a person (if you are not drinking alcohol).
-This is not Cajun. It’s not even creole.

I highly recommend the zcajun Roux if you like cajun food and a nice atmosphere. We ordered the gator tail and boudan balls for starters. (Personal opinion, use the dip from the boudan balls for your gator tail too. The cocktail sauce its served with does not justice for the flavor) Husband ordered the Mahi-Mahi garlic pasta and I ordered a bowl of crawfish etoufe. Both were amazing! The Mahi-Mahi had a little more of a “fishy” taste than im used to with Mahi Mahi but it was still good. We will be back again.

We really enjoyed our food. My husband got redfish i got the cajun chicken, a side of catfish and the pickle bites. Everything was fresh and good. I believe this restaurant has a lot of potential if they keep the quality good. It was a bit of a wait. Maybe in a couple of years they will upgrade the dining area but the food was still great. The wait time is a bit long but we went to grab a drink nearby. My only thing was being seated around 935 & they closed at 10. We didnt think to order desserts early but we will next time.

The food and service were excellent! Alyssa was our server and she did a great job with suggestions and helping us decide what to try. The appetizers were so good! My husband got the fried crawfish Po boy and loved it. I had the blackened chicken creole tacos, and they were very good too! We enjoyed our meal and will definitely be back. We went on Saturday at 11:30am and were seated immediately. It did start to fill up as we were leaving. Portion sizes were large so we brought home leftovers and could definitely share something next time.

Our first visit. I grew up in Louisiana and most places claiming to be Cajun are pretty clueless. We went early today and they were pretty busy for 2:30. The food came out quickly with no issues. My wife’s Tallulah Pasta was very good. I had the catfish and it was very good also. The portions were good and the price was consistent with other places in the area. Our waitress was very friendly but she never checked in us after the food came out. We’ll be back.

Huntsville has been needing a real Cajun restaurant for years! The food was delicious! Served fast and hot! Our bartender Alexa had a full bar and was making drinks for the floor and still provided excellent service! She knows how to service a packed bar! Alexa was friendly and kept us laughing and our drinks full! Highly recommend! When the Steamer goes out of business please open a Cajun Roux in that location! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️
