Listen I’ve been eating here since they opened over 15 yrs ago and switched management. I usually get the same things constantly. But when you order one of your normal dishes and it’s not even close to what it’s supposed to be , then there’s a problem. I’m not sure what’s up with this place but the quality is going down! The portions are smaller. I ordered Mongolian beef …it shouldn’t taste like pork or chicken. Your charging a premium for beef and the portion is in a much smaller container than any other meals but 14/15 dollars. I expect something that tastes somewhat close to Mongolian beef. Called complained had to send pictures then I end up calling back 2 hours later defending myself. I think I’m just going to throw in the towel and boycott this place. No more mystery meat for me…good luck

I absolutely love the food. It’s always made to order and super hot. I always get the larger portion and can eat out of it twice. I think it’s pretty cheap to. Just can’t get enough of it, absolutely recommend this amazing place to anyone

We go to China Star for carryout. Everything we’ve had is good but our favorite is shrimp egg foo yung. There are tables inside but we have not eaten in. I recommend China Star.

This shrimp fried rice is amazing! The shrimp are fresh and juicy, the veggies are crisp, and the sauce is super flavorful. Totally satisfying—will definitely order again!

Absolutely amazing! Everything, from the dishes to the service, is impeccable. The flavors are incredibly authentic, with generous portions and delicious taste. The staff are very warm and attentive. The dishes come out quickly, and clean and cozy. Highly recommended this place!

Was expecting a regular restaurant, but it’s more of a carry-out place. They have a few tables, but most of the people carry out. Having said that, the General Tao chicken was awesome. The right amount of heat, and the combo portion size was perfect. Enough for supper, and a little left over for lunch the next day. Service couldn’t have been better, they are really nice. Hole in the wall surprise!!

got the almond chicken was a lot of food for the price but not much chicken with the batter I like almond chicken cut in big strips so you can peel some of the batter and just eat the chicken can’t do that with almond chicken

So, weird experience. Admittedly I was running 15 minutes late to pick up my to- go order, but they called me, and I was like ‘yes I have a to-go with you is everything ok? Are you out of a dish?’ “Oh no, just letting you know it’s ready” ‘yes I know, I’m in the gas station next door’….geez. I get it people call off orders, but she kept pushing…and then I’ve never been there before and they have no lights on but the very small open light, the name of the place isn’t even lit up! And the cashier was pleasant, ya know, here’s your food, I said happy new year, no response. And then I get home and had to salt the driveway real quick amd get a second call! It’s a guy and he says ‘you have a pick up with us?’ I was like ‘yeah I already picked it up! Am I missing food or something? I haven’t checked my bag yet and I know your closing soon.’ “Oh no no just double checking ” hm ok. Click. Whatever. So I run in and it’s all there. So the meat for the General Tsaos and sesame chicken was tough and chewy, but the regular and house fried rice were fantastic! And the crab Rangoon and 1 of 2 egg rolls were basic. 4/10. Ended up just focusing on the rice and rangoons for our new years dinner sadly. Communication could be better.

Are you visiting the Temperance area or Toledo area? Not sure exactly where to go that has some good high quality chinese food for a cheap price?
Then I highly recommend China Star. I am a very big criticizer on General Tso’s chicken, but this place has the best hands down!! Egg rolls are absolutely delicious, food is always hot and fresh.
They have some amazing crab rangoon also. I highly suggest this place! Staff is super friendly and food is always hot, fresh and of course…AMAZING!!!! What more can you ask for?
