When you hear Banh Mi Boys a Vietnamese Boy Band may come to mind, but it’s just a Asian restaurant that serves banh mi sandwiches. Very flavorful and filling sandwiches I might add.
The Whaley Street location is tucked away in a tiny location situated in the midst of student housing. The lot is small, but when I visited I had no trouble getting in or out. There is handicapped accessible parking and entrance to the restaurant. Inside is bright and colorful with mural painted walls.
The employees were neatly attired and greeted me cheerfully upon my arrival.
The restroom was clean and no unnecessary smells. A good sign of a well run establishment.
I planned on getting a lot more, but decided to stick to my budget. I visited on a Monday afternoon, so there was still a lot of week to go.
There is a variety of offerings so that almost everyone can easily find something to try. They offer starters (Egg Rolls, Spring Rolls) Wings in 10 flavorful sauces, rice & noodles, salads and sweets (flavorful bread pudding) and a variety of fries and drinks.
On this trip I chose the BMB combo (headcheese, 2 types of ham, pork belly, pork meatball, pickled carrots & Daikon, jalapeños, cucumbers and cilantro) I may have left something out, but the combination of ingredients created a refreshing and unique taste experience. I chose the straightforward house fries to pair with it and a grilled pork BM for later. (Char-grilled lemongrass pork shoulder )
They put an ample amount of condiments in the take out bag. The Sriracha Chili Sauce had a robust spiciness to it and the Hoisin sauce was mildly sweet. It’s taste profile reminded me of a Plumb sauce
I have no complaints (unless it were price) but considering the sandwiches were 9 inches long, tasted fantastic, the fries were addictive and the pickled carrots & Daikon (a long, white, winter radish) gave a unique flavor profile; I acknowledge I actually got a Amazing deal!
I heard that the restaurant is for sale and it’s possible it could be closing
If you want something a little different and you love a good sandwich, please go hang out with my favorite new boy band
Check out Banh Mi Boys
Was excited to try a new place near my area that’s walking distance to apartment living and campus. The place was clean and setting fitting for what size permitted. We had 3 staff that weren’t too helpful in walking us through the menu…
I got a Katsu Sandwhich, a Korean Fried Chicken Sandwhich, and cheese fries.
First the sandwiches. The ingredients for the sandwich were fresh and they were cold which combined well with the fried chicken. The chickens crunch was awesome. What killed me was the 14$ price of each sandwich that didn’t even come with a drink/side. The bread too for that price was kinda hard.
The fries killed me yo. They aren’t hand crafted and you can tell they are store bought frozen and fried no big deal, but I was expecting something similar to the photo on the menu item, not the unfamiliar garbage that was handed to us lol especially for that much dang.
This place was so clutch!!
We had
Korean BBQ wings
Beef Spring Rolls
Burger w cheese
KFC Banh mi
Bulgogi fries
Everything was perfect! If I could rate it a 100/10 I would!
I ordered a bunch bc I wanted to taste a little of everything! The wings come w fries which was a pleasant surprise, I expected just wings!
Everything was cooked fresh, everyone was friendly and helpful! Made suggestions and took our feedback well.
I haven’t had a burger THAT good in 5+ years!
My husband couldn’t stop eating he just kept saying wow! Definitely 1 of my favorite places now!
Salads, rice, and noodles to choose from.
Shrimp had a very different taste, not bad but great.
The restrooms were clean.
