Even on a slow weekday after summer break, they only had one cashier open, forcing everyone into a long line. The kitchen staff? Standing around, avoiding eye contact, clearly just passing time. The kitchen workers were literally just taking pre-made food out of the fridge and putting it on plates at the slowest pace I’ve ever seen, slower than a DMV sloth. They don’t give a dime about their customers. Horrible management and leadership.
The food itself was even worse. I paid nearly $130 for what can only be described as overpriced, low-quality fast food. The photos speak for themselves. The only reason I even stayed was because my kids were hungry. I will bring some snacks next time.
SeaWorld should be embarrassed to serve this to paying guests. Absolutely not worth it.
I had the all day dining deal. At least 4X too expensive at regular price
*It was 50 minutes. I watched the guy making the burgers chat his butt off. After asking 2 employees where my food was (to which they unprofessionally brushed me off), 1 employee finally made my food. My order # was 78. They were up in the 90s. High school free lunches taste better than this burger.
Service – there were two lines to order. Well the person taking the orders in my line left. We assumed she would be back. Never came back! We waited for 10 minutes and gave up and just had to move to the other line. When we got up to the other person he said it her break. WHY DIDN’T SHE SAY ANYTHING!
Atmospheres- it was raining outside so there was no where to sit
I wish I could give zero stars. I ordered a Beyond Burger for $19.99 at Explorer’s Café and what I got was two stale buns and a sad, dry patty that tasted like overcooked cardboard. No lettuce, no tomato, no onion — not even a hint of sauce to save it. It was like biting into a mouthful of dusty regret.
If you enjoy chewing on a flavorless hockey puck sandwiched between dry bread, then by all means, waste your $19.99 here. Otherwise, spare yourself the disappointment and go literally anywhere else.
Complete waste of money and appetite.
The got rid of the burger topping bar, which was the reason we went, pickles, pickles, and more pickles….
We actually leave SeaWorld when it’s time to eat (unless a good coupon) and go eat at the Zoo.
SeaWorld San Diego has the absolute worst food of any park I have ever been to. I belive it is simply poor management practices…. Such a waste we would visit more and stay longer if there was just good food. But there isn’t.
The food at Explorer’s Café is not the best I’ve ever had, but it is serviceable. The portions are large and the prices are reasonable. We got the southwestern wrap and it was OK. Few vegetarian options are available. The service is also efficient, even when the restaurant is busy. This was part of the all-day dining pass which works really well!
Overall, Explorer’s Café is a good option for families looking for a quick and affordable meal at SeaWorld San Diego. However, if you are looking for a more upscale dining experience, I would recommend one of the other restaurants in the park.
