When deciding where to go for lunch, my wife suggested someplace we hadn’t been to. Since I’ve heard good things about the Pungo Sports Bar and Grill, I suggested we go there. Now, it’s a little bit of a drive from our home in Kempsville, but it is well worth it. Since they were touted as having outstanding cheeseburgers, we both chose those. We were very glad we did. My cheeseburger was, without question, the best I have ever had. It may sound odd, but I didn’t need ketchup whatsoever. We also had scrumptious crab balls for an appetizer. They were delicious but I couldn’t shake the image of eunuch crabs. Pungo Sports Bar and Grill also presents an outstanding atmosphere and is a place I wouldn’t hesitate to go back to again. Finally, our servers, Jessica and Amanda, were very attentive and friendly. Jessica, especially, made it feel as if we were eating at home. Like I said, I plan on returning. What’s more, it will be a destination whenever we have out-of-town company. The tourists can have the Oceanfront. I’m thrilled that we have a jewel in Pungo.

Great local hang out for all Sports Fans, especially Football. More known for the variety of drinks with a home town feel. Food is ok, with your main bar Staples of Apps and Sandwiches. Servers are great as well keeping up on orders.

Went to meet some friends for dinner, drinks, and Karaoke on Friday of Labor Day Weekend. Karaoke was great… great participation and coordination of music. Dinner was disappointing… wanted the steak although all we could get at the time was fryer food and my wife got the mozzarella sticks and I the southwest rolls… they were not even finished although we closed the bar. Then there was only enough Jack for 1 drink… this on a Friday of a Holiday weekend. The bartender was great and did offer another shot on the house. So all and all not a good experience… although we will give it one more try for our friends and us since we ride with groups – this way to provide an updated experience.
