We were visiting the area from Chicagoland and we stopped in here for lunch. The food was fantastic and the service was awesome. The four of us loved our meals so much that we made a point of being in the area again for lunch the next day too!! The owner, Lauri took great care of us and we all walked away happy once again! I had burgers both days but my wife, brother, and sister-in-law all enjoyed the fried chicken, Philly steak, chicken sandwich, mozzarella sticks, and burgers they all had over the two days as well. Next time we are in the U.P. we will definitely be back!! Double Cheeseburger and Robby Burger rule! Great coleslaw too!!

Stopped in for fish fry on Friday night. Hands-down, worst fish fry I have ever had in a restaurant. When the food arrived, the baked potato was cold and obviously baked hours or possibly days ago. There was a tiny piece of walleye, smaller than a perch. The salad consisted of iceberg lettuce, some croutons and shredded cheese and three grape tomatoes — they charge extra for this but fail to disclose the fact. Asked the server about the size and quality of food, she went to the kitchen and returned and said there was nothing they could do about it. We come past this restaurant every Friday evening, but we’ll never be back. If you are looking for a good fish fry, don’t come here.

Stopped over lunch while traveling thanks to these reviews. The bartender Angie was lovely, and the bbq bacon burger was delicious! Our kiddo loved her grilled cheese too. Husband got the junk basket… interesting mix, but all deep fried so super greasy, of course.
If the internets didn’t tell me, I probably wouldn’t have guessed it was open… super unassuming. If you’re looking for a spot between major towns, this is as good as any.

Off the beaten path. That’s what you might call the La Branche Tavern, but you won’t find a better old school country bar. The bar is located just off the main ATV trail system so its a great place for a ride. Food is great, service is excellent, and they treat their customers like friends. Very cool place with a long history. Check it out!
