I went here because I’m used to one in Stamford that I absolutely love and was too far away. First turn off, when walking in there is a very dirty black table that sits by the glass window on the left side of the room. I said ok, “it’s not the food”. When I reached the counter the lettuce had so many brown pieces. When I did order, sans lettuce of course. The food failed in comparison to the one in Stamford. Tasteless chicken and red sauce so hot you couldn’t eat. Normally I love the spicy red sauce because it has this awesome flavor that enhances the food though its super spicy. This place, it was just pure heat and I could barely eat my food. For the first time since starting eating at Taj for the past 2 years, I couldn’t finish a meal. Just not worth the stop at all. Though the person serving the food was nice, the food was very disappointing

Visited Taj Stamford on Fathers Day and it was an incredible experience.
The drinks, appetizers, entrees was top notch. I would especially give 7 stars to the service. The staff was amazing! We ordered the lavender drink, mango django drink, El nino and they came out looking as if we were in the caribbean.
Would 100% recommend this restaurant.

Highly recommend! Have been waiting for this place to open!! The food is fresh and delicious with dietary restrictions snd vegetarian options!! SO great for our neighborhood to a mix of AFFORDABLE different middle eastern foods for take-out and eat-in. Will definitely return. The chicken shwarma was so good I forgot to take a photo!!

Just been for lunch and had the chicken over rice. It was huge. Amazing value for money and tasted really good too.
Will definitely be making this a regular lunch spot and looking forward to trying other food there too.

So excited to have a quick counter-service vegetarian option in town! The falafel was great and there were a variety of toppings. Nice bright store with three small tables to eat at. Friendly service. I’ll definitely be coming back.

I’ve been waiting to try this spot ever since I saw the signage! The wait couldn’t have possibly been more worth it when I walked in and was wonderfully greeted by Naveneet, the chef behind the counter at the time!
He served me up a customary giant portion of shawarma chicken and gyro lamb over rice with tons of white sauce!
The immense portion and affordability is rare on washington street but the pricelessness of the staff’s smiles and hospitality is immeasurable!
I wasn’t even that hungry, I got the food to take home but the first bite I took opened up the well of desire within my heart and stomach, only to be satisfied by devouring the hot meal right then and there.
And lets not forget the Mango Lassi PR (the owner of this branch) so kindly served me, a mago lassi unlike any other I’ve had. Full of subtle spiceful flavors, this is a drink you buy packs of to take home!
A true and accessible Mediterranean spot is rarer than a unicorn in CT yet this new hidden gem came out swinging with flavor and choices that only prove how irreplaceable they are!
A MUST EAT SPOT!

I have previously left a review but wanted to update— prior I gave 5 stars but now I am giving 3 due the bread/pita change. I used to have Shawarma in eastern europe and it was the most similar the way it was made. This new change the bread gets soggy and breaks out while everything falls apart. Please bring the old pita back!!
