The worst Chinese food of my life. The chicken in the fried rice was white, the rice tasted like it had been reheated. And the chicken with broccoli tasted like it came from the freezer and the pork was brown inside. Horrible. I give it a 0. It was also extremely hot inside the place, no A/C.

Just save your money spare ribs had a strange funk to them like nasty old oil. No veggies in the rice. Overpriced if your going to charge the same as other Chinese food places the food should be on the same level.

One of the worst meals Ive had in a while. Food was not fresh, nothing was in the pork fried rice except some pieces of pork. General tso tasted like the chicken was made the day before. And it was very pricey!

I got food from there 2 days ago and ordered in advance over the phone about 10 mins. Before I came food was very hot, okay cool. I open it I can automatically tell the food is recooked and old sesame chicken was super dark. Im hungry so I take a bite and it’s super chewy and mushy since it has been recooked. I literally threw it away. And with the little bit I did eat my stomach was hurting. Customers can tell when you give us old food !!! Stop doing that!! Luckily enough for this restaurant I do not live close by.

Pork fried rice, missing vegetables & very very little pork. About 4 pieces. Very little rice.

They also served the general tsos chicken soggy, seems like recooked. & the majority of my plate was general tsos chicken and very little rice. Seems like they were trying to dump the food they did have to recook.

The chicken lo mein was very good.

The egg roll is okay, but it’s not what I’m used to. There’s these fat pieces of what I think are chicken? Inside it. It was a bit watery/oily Definitely not what I was expecting but it wasn’t bad.

If you want to try good Chinese food, goto golden dragon in west haven. You won’t be disappointed.

I will never get Chinese food anywhere else! My family and I have tried every Chinese food place around North Haven. Most of them, the food is soggy, cold when we get it, not cooked right, etc. Until we found this place. It’s tucked away behind BAR pizza and we never even knew it was there! Our order everytime is chicken and broccoli spicy, general tso’s chicken not spicy, and crab rangoons. everytime the food is fresh and flavorful, everyone there is so nice and the place is beyond clean. I recommend to everyone!

I’m always suspicious when a reviewer states that “all these other reviews are ‘manufactured’”. How could they know that? And especially when that reviewer has written so few reviews themself, and most other reviews of this place are very positive. As if there were some grand conspiracy to inflate the perception of this little take-out restaurant.
So I ask, who is really ”manufacturing” reviews?
Anyway, here’s my non-manufactured review.
I was very pleasantly surprised by both the quality and value of my first time ordering food at The New Great Wall.
I called ahead which was a good thing considering there are only two very small tables in the restaurant. My order was hot and ready upon arrival. The gent behind the counter was very friendly and when I asked if they deliver, he said yes, but call first to be sure they have someone on hand to do it. Fair enough.
My meal was very, very good, and not at all salty like you can find in many Asian restaurants I’ve had food from. The chicken rice soup was just that; a flavorful broth, with a decent amount of chicken and lots of rice.
The shrimp with vegetables was a very generous portion with a good amount of shrimp and plenty of clearly fresh, crunchy-cooked vegetables, also not salty. It came with a good portion of sticky white rice.
The other part of my order was their “house special fried rice”. Again, very well prepared and flavorful, with shrimp, pork, chicken, and veggies in it.
I’ll be certain to return or have delivery next time I’m in the mood for Chinese food. It was a very good meal!

I have been ordering my Chinese food from New Great Wall for about 9 years. They have some very tasty steamed dumplings, very thin dough. Singapore noodle are excellent. Egg rolls are crispy and not oily. Fried rice is also good, General Tso chicken was nice a crispy, not soggy. Customer service as always was great. I just wish that they had the house mustard. But then again, I just make it at home.
