Well, that was a surprise! A friend and I went to Kai Sushi for the first time on a Saturday evening, without any expectations. We were pleasantly surprised by the high quality of the fish. We’ve both eaten sushi in many different cities and countries (including Japan) and Kai ranks very highly in my opinion.

The service was good, and the wait staff very attentive without hovering.

Being a newly opened restaurant, they did not have printed menus, so we had to use our smart phones to figure out our order. Not a big deal, and the owner assured us they’d have menus in a week or two. The floors are bare concrete, wall decorations I don’t believe are complete, and the tables and chairs were basic. They do have a karaoke machine, but thankfully no one was using it.

All in all, this is a diamond in the rough, and I will definitely be back for more delicious sushi.

Incredible experience at Kai Sushi. The sushi is extremely fresh—some of the best sashimi I’ve had in a long time. The rolls were bomb, the sea bream was outstanding, and the dry-aged sashimi was such a pleasant surprise—deep flavor, beautifully done.

Everything we tried was excellent, and the service was amazing. You can really tell this is a new small business that cares about quality and the guest experience. Loved everything and can’t wait to come back. Highly recommend.

We weren’t expecting to find something this special in such a small town. The sushi was honestly so fresh and delicious. Everything we ordered was amazing.

But what truly made the night unforgettable was the people. The owner and his family are some of the kindest, most welcoming people we’ve met. They made us feel so comfortable and genuinely cared about our experience. It didn’t just feel like dinner, it felt personal and thoughtful.

You can tell this place is built on love, hard work, and pride. We left feeling full, happy, and grateful.

We’ll absolutely be back!

We had a wonderful time at Kai Sushi! Very inviting space, a friendly greeting, and immediate seating was a great start. A QR code scan or paper menu made it easy to order, and food arrived quickly. The miso soup, gyoza, spicy tuna roll, and unagi roll were all so good. My daughters enjoyed the spam roll, inari, shrimp tempura, and tamago. The tiger shrimp nigiri had a delightful depth of flavor I haven’t experienced before. Don’t forget some mochi or Japanese cheesecake, and the iced matcha drink was a pleasant surprise! Thank you, and we look forward to our next visit!

We ordered takeout and were honestly really impressed with how good everything was. The packaging was excellent and kept all of the sushi perfectly in place, so nothing shifted or fell apart during the trip home.

The shari was a standout. The rice was seasoned beautifully and had great texture, which made every piece taste balanced and intentional. The dry aged fish was also excellent, with clean flavors and a depth you don’t often get from takeout sushi.

High quality experience for a to go order, and it easily rivals many places in Vegas that only shine when you dine in. We’ll definitely be ordering from here again.

This newly opened sushi restaurant is such a great find. It’s not an all-you-can-eat spot, and you can really tell the difference in the quality and freshness of the food. Every dish tasted incredibly fresh and thoughtfully prepared. The menu is unique, with items you don’t usually see at other sushi restaurants, which made the experience even more exciting. You can tell a lot of care went into creating each roll and plate. If you’re looking for high-quality sushi and something beyond the usual menu, this place is definitely worth a visit.

Finally, a great sushi spot in Henderson! It’s so close to Water Street and the hockey arena, which makes it even better. The service was excellent – super attentive – and the food was absolutely delicious. The salmon nigiri was surprisingly filling, the rainbow roll with ponzu sauce was perfectly savory, and the Red Rock roll brought some serious spice. Highly recommend checking this place out!

My wife and I tried this locally owned sushi restaurant for the first time last night, and it instantly became our new favorite spot. For the past 10 years we’ve wished for a great sushi place on our side of town instead of having to drive 30+ minutes—and this place finally delivered in every possible way.

We ordered the SW Roll, American Roll, Salmon Lover Roll, Baked Yellowtail Roll, and the Crispy Rice Tuna, and every single dish was outstanding. You can immediately tell the chef has a true passion for the culinary arts. Each roll arrived beautifully prepared and made with incredibly fresh, high-quality fish. There’s a level of care, precision, and creativity here that sets this restaurant apart—you can tell the chef is a master of his craft and genuinely loves what he does, and that passion comes through in every bite.

If you’re even remotely a fan of sushi, do yourself a favor and try this place. Supporting a locally owned restaurant that delivers food at this level is an easy decision. We’ll absolutely be back—often.

If you’re looking for true made-to-order sushi, Kai Sushi is in a league of its own. The owner is a master sushi chef with over 14 years of experience, and it absolutely shows in the quality and attention to detail.

This is not an all-you-can-eat spot—but that’s exactly why it’s so good. The focus here is on craftsmanship and premium ingredients, not volume. Kai Sushi is the only local sushi restaurant that dry-ages their fish, which results in a noticeably more flavorful, buttery, and refined bite you just don’t get elsewhere.

Every piece tastes intentional, balanced, and fresh in a way that sets it apart from typical sushi restaurants. If you appreciate high-quality fish, traditional technique, and supporting a local business that takes real pride in their craft, this place is a must.

Centrally located on Water Street in Henderson, Kai Sushi is a hidden gem that deserves the support.

Now one of my go-to places! It’s hard to find really *GOOD* sushi in Henderson, especially on the east side. Really fresh. Absolutely delicious. Not too badly priced. Standard rolls like a spicy tuna roll will run you around $11. Specialty rolls can get up to around $25. They’re still in their soft opening, so some things need to be overlooked for the time being, such as no physical menus (but they’re on order, so it won’t be long). Need to use the QR code at the table to view the menu online. But if that’s the worst thing, then this place will be the go-to for me. Service was stellar. Place was clean. Food was spot-on. What more can you ask for?
