Guess how many pieces of fried pork chop were in their plate? FOUR. F. O. U. R. For $17? In THIS *gestures wildly around* economy?!

The pork chops are sweet, savory, and perfectly crunchy with that nice, Taiwanese street food spice on top. A little sweeter than I’m used to, but I’m on board. And their rice, my litmus for how seriously a place takes its food, are very well separated, chewy, and moist without being soggy (even after a long car ride home). The veggies? Just like how my popo made em.

The fried mushrooms are the sleeper appetizer. Large chunks of king oyster mushroom battered and fried with a shatteringly crisp crust. Their soy garlic paste sauce is addicting and I’d eat it with anything.

They’re still new so give em some grace, but I got my order in 15 minutes from ordering so they get an A+ on speed in my book.

Super happy to live nearby, I’ll be going a lot when I want a plate of food that can second as an attack brick with how heavy it is.

I love their bentos. I think I went every day last week, trying something new every time! There’s so much variety and everything tastes great.

My only complaint is that it’s pricey at $17-$18 per bento but I guess this is just an industry trend and not unique here.

Definitely the best Taiwanese bento in the Bay.

I’m so happy that opening the new one in the San Mateo location which is close to me.
The quality is good as in other locations. I was here on the second day of opening. The cute lady at the front desk is so nice and friendly with other employees.

Highly recommend this if you’d like to try a traditional Taiwanese bento.

I’ve visited their Palo Alto location before, so I was excited to see this new spot open up. This location is a bit smaller than the one in Palo Alto, but it’s a great addition to the neighborhood.
The interior is simple. They have two touch screens for ordering, which makes the process incredibly simple and clear. While there is some seating and a standing area if you want to eat in, I noticed that most people (myself included) tend to order to go.
I ordered the Basil Popcorn Chicken, and it did not disappoint:
Texture: Perfectly tender and juicy.
Flavor: Really yummy and well-seasoned.
Quality: Even after the walk/drive home, it stayed nice and delicious while warm.
Verdict: A solid, efficient spot for a quick snack or meal. I’ll definitely be back to grab more chicken and order other dishes.

I came here in a group of 3 around opening time and ordered the fried squid and a side of rice. The food came out quickly and the portion sizes are good considering the prices (especially the side of rice, it was a lot). The squid was good and lightly breaded and seasoned and came with some basil as well. I would say the leg pieces were more flavorful that the other pieces served. They included a red sauce on the side as well which was okay. I think that they could’ve included some soy sauce on the side and a lemon too because it did feel it was missing a crucial part to the fried squid. It was less enjoyable because of the lack of flavor overall.

This is a Taiwanese bento box spot~ They give a generous portion which I was suprise to see!

I ordered the basil popcorn chicken, grilled chicken cutlet bento, and the Taiwanese sausage bento.
– The popcorn chicken was soo good!! Nice and crispy. The chicken was juicy and was cut very big.
– I was slightly disappointed in the grilled chicken cutlet bento, I misunderstood what I was getting and thought it was a grilled chicken. I wasn’t expecting it to be fried. The bento box also came with a cucumber & egg dish, napa cabbage, tea egg, and some minced pork on the rice. I thought the cucumber and Napa cabbage dish were very light in taste, almost bland, but it helped balance the grilled chicken cutlet.

Same menu as Palo Alto, not a lot of seats. Wish they will add 卤牛腱 or 综合卤味 like the Cupertino location!
