We ordered four of the 12 pc wings, two with bone in and two without. The boneless turned out to be small enough for two bites, and the bone in was just the smaller sections. We got honey bbq and teriyaki, but there was no distinction since all of it was basically flavorless. The boneless was mushy and the texture was like it had been reheated. I would never go there again since a place called “wings” does them so badly! Since it was to go, I can’t say much about the atmosphere, except for it being a Thursday night at 5:30 pm and the place was dead. Which should have been a sign to us!

RJ’s wild wild wild wings are an amazing deal at 99 cents each during happy hour, and they are impressively large! The service was good, and the side of tater skins was on par with expectations. I would definitely come back; it’s well worth the money. Happy hour from 2-6 Monday- Friday
She asked if I wanted celery which I did..it was 3 little pieces for 99 cents..should have been at least 6 pieces.

Ordered the wing basket and the wings were so plain and were baked in the oven. The sauce they put on was not tossed it was just kind of like poured on or squeezed on and way too thick. The fries were very plain and blah as well. Worst fries ever had in my life. The drinks were horrible can’t even make a Long Island iced tea correctly after couple tries. The bar fountain soda was flat. Ordered the chicken wrap that was the only decent item. The potato salad was the worst potato salad I’ve ever had in my life it was so bland. Baked beans obviously were canned only reason they turned out okay. I say okay because they were bland as well. First time ever going here and never will be back. $100 out the door for crap. Two out of three stalls in the bathroom word nasty. The place was dead there’s no reason why the bathroom should have looked like that The trash was full as well. And this was at 6:00 p.m. on a Saturday night they were dead.

RJ’s!
The namesake, Mr. Ralph J. Lupton, had quite a few BBQ places over the years.
I can attest to that!
We go way back to Lupton’s Buffet that was on Busch Boulevard in Tampa. That buffet was more of a thrill than ANY ride at nearby Busch Gardens!
After 50 years, that location closed on Christmas Eve 2019.
We frequently ate at his other restaurants as well. I loved the one in Brandon, with an interior of crazy cool woodworking trim. As did the one near Fowler Avenue.
ALWAYS great food at decent prices. And great service.
I’m tickled that little old Zephyrhills has the sole remaining Lupton’s authentic faire. Even though he chose just his initials for this location, it is very much still a Lupton’s. Evidenced by all of the Lupton’s catering equipment in the parking lot.
I’ve become a ‘regular’.
You can pretty much guarantee you’ll see me there on Wing Wednesdays! 99 cent wings!
I absolutely LOVE those wings. I get the breaded ones, which have a slightly sweet note mixed in with the Yeehaw Buffalo kick!
On non-wing days, I definitely love getting other menu items. I also love their ‘Side Salad’. This salad is bigger than a lot of what other places serve as a meal-sized salad! And it’s dang great.
Ribs. Ribs. Ribs!
That’s my other main Lupton’s go-to. Lots of lip smacking good memories there.
I tell EVERYBODY about RJ’s. I invite everyone out for wings. And things.
You can ask them, they’ll admit it!

Tonight, we went the second time to RJ’s Wild Wings in Zephyrhills. The first time, we had wings and they were excellent. Tonight we had the bar-b-que ribs dinner. Again, excellent! Food portions were more than plenty. The fried mushrooms are hand-breaded, and so good! Service was awesome, thank you, Crystal. We went to this restaurant under prior ownership/management, so we can compare. Lupton’s reopened this one back in February 2023, and it’s much better in every area. If you haven’t gone because you had a bad experience with the previous one, give it another try. I think you’ll be glad you did.

A nice bar and restaurant. Well cooked wings with a good tasting hot sauce. Good service and a nice moderately busy bar. The restaurant is adorned with all the old Lupton’s signs and photos. A nice trip back through memory lane if you ever visited Luptons in Tampa.

1st time here. Service was excellent. Atmosphere perfect. Sports bar. Have not tried the food yet. Next trip, will add to this review. Menu prices seem reasonable. Can’t wait to add to this review. Bartender Ross was a stand out. Offered specials/pricing to help us that we didn’t know about. Looking forward to next time!!

I felt a little guilty about not ordering food, but I had a huge lunch and was really just there to meet a friend. I think the waitress’s name was Amanda, and she was a treat from the moment I sat down. She didn’t bat an eye when I set up my laptop in the corner for an hour to take a work call, and once my friend arrived, she let us settle in with a couple of beers and talk for another two hours without any pressure to move along.
Next time I’m passing through Zephyrhills, I’ll make a point to get wings here. They smelled fabulous.

Stopped in to try RJ’s/Lupton’s since it had just opened and we were wanting some wings. We were not disappointed! The food took a little time coming out but the quality was great! Very flavorful and large wings. Also got the hamburger sliders and they were tasty! Would come back. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
