You can also see photos of the menu 5 days before the event versus the day of the event that shows how much they jacked up prices. Compare one item and you’ll see what I mean. What the menus don’t show is the price for a mixed drink during the event, which cost $18, but were served in atypical small cups and were hit or miss on whether alcohol was noticeable. After a couple drinks I decided to save my money and just drink water until my party was ready to leave.
The event itself had a woman on stage the entire night rapping along to songs. Completely ruining a lot of perfectly good songs. This appeared to be her opportunity to put on a singing show for herself, which we never would’ve bought tickets for. It was literally like watching someone rehearse for an upcoming wannabe rap tour. Even going so far as her rapping her original songs at one point.
Overall I would not go back to this bar, or attend an event held by the promoter. Classless is the adjective I would use to describe what I saw tonight. The promoter got what they wanted with ticket sales, but it cost the bar a future potential customer.
The previous review by “Ken Man” was spot on! The prices at beat drop were CRAZY MARKED UP! The same round of shots were CHEAPER AT THE TRINITY NIGHT CLUB IN SEATTLE! We ordered 1 food item as well, an order of fries ALSO marked up, way over salted. The scary part is that they had every salty condiment available except for ketchup?? Red flag man. Red flag. We tossed the whole basket of fries.
Worst part was the music selection on NYE. 11pm music was hit or miss and the awkward NO SEATING “restaurant” vibe was in full effect. This only got worse as midnight approached. 11:58pm we entered the new year forced to listen to a was a deep cut Nicki Minaj song no one knew(while the DJs were telling all the ladies to “bounce that shit”). Followed by the “Celebrate good times” song…
We really did try to make the best of what Beat Drop provided but it was hard. There’s much more I could get into but I’ll save it. I want to try to go back and give them yet another shot, but it will be very hard to convince myself. Generous 3 star review accounts for all of our visits.
Update: Went for NYE but left not too long after cause the DJ kept singing along to the songs on the mic. The volume on the mic vs the music was pretty loud. Not a bad DJ but if youre gonna sing along to an entire song pleeease have the mic at a reasonable volume. They had a great Photo Booth though!
Now understand I was told when entering that this is their 3rd day of operations, I owned a resturant for 6 years in Seattle, so I understand it’s not easy to operate.
Our tab started at 6:05pm there were 7 guests including us two, 3 bartenders, 1 server and 3 back of house. The bartender (Jasmin) that was serving our table was barely audible, no nice greeting just asked us what we wanted. We ordered a margarita, a beer and an order of wings (someone forgot to put on the menu that the garlic wings are parmesan garlic). We could just make out that she literally said “is that it?” We felt there was an attitude though it was hard to hear her (there was no music playing and the TV’s were muted ((one tv wasnt on))… we explained that we would like to look at the rest of the menu -we had arrived planning to have dinner there. The the beer and drink arrive after about 15min, the margarita arrived in a martini glass! So there was maybe 2.5oz of drink no ice!! We couldn’t believe it, after about 20 minutes our wings arrive, understand it takes 9 minutes to deep fry wings. You can see into the kitchen there was only 1 other order. A nice server brought out the wings no one asked if my wife wanted another marga-tini or if I would like a refill of my beer, ya know to go with our food. We decided they were not ready for food service and decided to leave, which sucks cause I definitely wanted to try the Bacon Mac & Cheese and a couple other items. We asked for a bill that unfortunately took another 10+ minutes, Jasmin said it was because she messed up our check, no “thank you” or “how was your drinks and wings” from her.
They charged us $15.75 for the marga-tini that was no more than 2.5oz (a shot is 1.5oz)
What a rip off!!
They need to work on their guest services and also serve a proper margarita thats not in martini glasses!
They must think they are some high end establishment ($120 Tomahawk steak) in a pole building (wharehouse) with overpriced drinks, I don’t know what location this establishment would survive, but definitely not in Lacey WA.
