$17 for a banh mi is $4-$10 way too expensive but I really like the bread as well as the interesting pork that they have that’s really flavorful. Hopefully with the new Oakland guest pass program they can try to incentivize more prices down to the street level. Ordering is easy through the iPad and I really like the decorations they have for their area extending a little bit to into a gate area. There are grab and go food options as well as a soda fountain serving Coca-Cola drinks. This seems to be a little bit more popular due to the fact there are Southwest passengers around.

We arrived and the line was long so we thought it might be good. Our orders came out in less than 10 minutes. Tried the chicken pho and it was excellent. My wife got the garlic noodle with mushrooms. She said it was different than expected but good and more than she could eat.

Ordered a pork vermicelli bowl. Saw a bahn mi come out with my order number. Politely told the guy that I ordered a bowl, which that was not. The guy said it’s the number before (662). I show him the sticker that says 663 just like my receipt. I show him my receipt that says pork rice vermicelli bowl. He continues to claim that I clicked the wrong item! I had to use a more stern tone and told him to read the receipt again. It clearly says bowl. As does the sticker on the sandwich. He says “somebody made a mistake” to which I reply “yes, someone behind the counter with you did. Now please give me what I ordered.” He keeps an attitude and tosses the bowl on the counter after making it begrudgingly. He literally tried to gaslight me after reading the receipt… what a tool. Screw that place, I won’t be back

I’ve been eating lunch at Tay Ho downtown Oakland since the opened. Ate here because their food was always superior. This is awful. Avoid. Go elsewhere. My eggs are grey-green and the hash browns aren’t cooked or seasoned. Ugh…

Oakland Tay Ho in Southwest terminal offers a solid Chicken Bahn Mi. Crisp vegetables, sweet and ample chicken and taste the smoky BBQ. Huge portion. $20 (airport prices) so not a bargain. Good for the go. I’ll be back on my next travel through OaK

The portion of the chicken reduced significantly since two weeks ago. I’ve been a customer since the place was opened in the airport and enjoyed the amount and the quality of chicken they served but not anymore. The staff admitted that the owner decided to lessen the chicken qeight to 2 oz per bowl with the same price!

We tried Tay Ho at the Oakland Airport and walked away with mixed impressions. The pho itself wasn’t bad, but it was very simple, very little meat, light on noodles, and overall not the abundant, flavorful bowl you’d expect for the price. We paid $50.14 for two small pho and two drinks, which would be reasonable if the portions and quality matched what you can get in the Bay Area, a region known for excellent Vietnamese food.
Service felt rushed and disengaged, which added to the sense that this location is running on airport traffic rather than genuine hospitality. When you’re hungry in an airport, you make do, but if this were located anywhere outside the airport, it would struggle at this quality and portion level.
Would not return. Question? Where is the management at the Oakland Airport? 2.7 average rating when I left this review. Honestly Oakland, do better.

The people behind the counter were great–the food was not. I ordered the pork vermicelli bowl (a dish I normally love). The portion was huge but the meat was the texture of jerky: tough and dry. Very disappointing.

I don’t have high expectations for airport food but this was a shockingly bad, close to inedible meal. Ordered a rice bowl with pork ($20) and basically just ate rice, lettuce, and fish sauce for dinner because the pork was burnt/dried to a crisp. It hurt my teeth just trying to chew it. It was close to jerky. It was also 7:10pm on a Tuesday and we got kicked out of the eating area because they were closing.
