I came here for dinner on a Monday night and it was the best atmosphere I could have asked for. I was greeted by the owners, both women, perhaps both the Bao mamas. This was a wonderful chance to try our hands at some Chinese cuisine that had a cultural twist. There are even kimchi buns! I tried almost all the buns, and that Cha Sui is my favorite, but the Red Bean is a close second. I bought many to take home, and I was offered a beautiful deal with a few free. That was so kind. The brown sugar mochi were also so delicious! But let them cool, or you’ll burn your mouth! We also have a spicy curry and a sesame peanut chicken noodle which I added chili oil to and WOW. Best food I’ve had in a long time. Not to.mention the tea!

Stopped in for a late lunch today at Bao Mama. Ordered the char siu bao, five-spice marinated beef noodles with chili oil, and an oolong tea without sugar.
Really enjoyed the meal, the recommendations from the staff, and chatting with who I believe was the owner. The bao reminded me of the nikuman (a meat-filled steamed bun with Chinese roots, super popular in Japan) I used to have when I lived there.
Since moving back, this is one of the better ones I’ve had — right up there with what you find at shops and restaurants across Japan. Decided to buy some more for the family at home and they loved it — my 6-year-old son almost put away two by himself.
Great spot if you want fresh food, great flavor, and to support a small business.

We ordered pork and chive pan fried dumpling. We can barely taste the chive. Then we tried the pork and shrimp fried dumpling. There were no shrimp in there… lastly, we had the spicy beef bao, the beef was dry. Overall, the dumplings are definitely lacking in flavor. The only component I can give is the drink they made was good. The staff is friendly. Bathroom is very clean.

The picture only shows a couple things, but we had the big beef spicy bun, the pork buns, the sparerib noodles, the brown sugar mochi buns and a camellia tea. Everything was really delicious and we will definitely be returning. We ended up getting takeout for our family to try as well

Nice selection of bao buns with tasty fillings. The boa buns come in two sizes . Unless you plan to share go for the regular size. Large is enormous. Also delicious noodle dishes. Great assortment of drinks and teas.
They also make a delicious bubble waffle that we many have to try on our next visit.

Had the Big bun, cha siu, vegetable, pork, and some pan fried dumplings. Big buns were nice and hefty. Thought the char siu could have had a bit more filling. Wanted to try the red bean but they were out at the time.
You can pay with tap, there’s a tip cup.
Have since tried every noodle bowl. I like them all but prefer curry noodle, or spicy rib noodle bowls. The rib is cooked so tender the bone itself is soft.
Curry beef bowl is really good too. Not spicy, but flavor is nice. Maybe contender against spicy rib as my favorite. Like beef stew.
Tea eggs available. Think it’s more like a braised egg (soy based). It’s good. Try it.
Rice cake sampler (radish, daikon, plain?) was alright. Less greasy than how other places might pan fry them, but a little dry texture inside. Kind of crumbly. Think it would pair well with a little soy glaze.
Matcha waffle is a bubble waffle. Really good. Very green tea flavored. How’d they get it in each bubble so neatly?

Shaved ice is nice. Not too big, but can share with a friend if you’re eating dinner with drinks.
They have some smoothies now which I think are actually really competitively priced. They come with some toppings like agar jelly and sago and cream that’s not mentioned in the advertisement. They’re not too sweet. I like them.
They have souffle pancake around brunch time on the weekends! Fluffy, topped with cream and fruit.(Maybe seasonal)
Brown sugar mochi is super soft. Chewy with a light crisp outer shell. Warm semi sweet filling.
Mala beef soup feels very ramen ish with the toppings. Fresh and varied. Spicy, but not killer. Still prefer the spare rib though.
Tom yum, shrimp soup tastes very refreshing. The lime and herbs are bright. Has a great tom yum flavor. A bit more delicate flavor than you might be used to, feels clean.

Wow what an experience! High quality authentic Chinese/asian foods. The noodles I think may be some of the best I’ve ever had. Buttery, melt in your mouth, filling and BIG portion. The woman that runs the shop is so beautiful and eloquent. This is how it’s done! Bao buns are very fresh. Dining area is spotless 10/10

I was on a quest for a quick bite when I came across a post about something unknown to me. A bao bun!! Not knowing what it was I did what anyone would; I googled it. My screen was filled with all kind of restaurants and pictures of all sort of bun, steam and fried, all very inviting! Fluffy pillows filled with meat and vegetables! Yummy! When I found Bao Mama, I had never even heard of this place, and I have driven by, very often on my way to Traders Joe in Cherry Hill, NJ. So the second I had a chance I drove straight and had lunch with my family. The place is in a strip mall with very few businesses, and if you blink you might miss it. The restaurant is small but cozy, plenty of tables and chairs, and a lovely lady on the counter who greets you immediately as you walk in. She directs you to the menu, and shows you how plenty of options they have, from dumplings to beef bowls, smoothies to boba tea, to the famous as-big-as-your-hand bao buns. They have steamed and pan fried, my favorite so far. From pork, spicy beef, bean, and chicken. All look delicious, but I opted for an order of pan fried pork, an order of pan fried chicken and a regular steam bao buns, which has pork, sausage, mushrooms and egg. This one was delicious, and the prices are very affordable. This was my second time here and it won’t be the last. Give it a go, have a bun and thank their mama!!

My daughter and I like trying new food spots in the area and came across Bao Mama. What a great little place! Woman at the counter was suuuuuper friendly and helped me out with a selection as what I wanted was sold out for the day. My daughter is a dumpling junky and loved their food. Nice little place inside, great food, super friendly. Definitely will be stopping in again!
