If comfort food is what you need, look no further than Franks-A-Lot. They’ve been serving up “Best of Philly” hot dogs since 1982, and their menu reads like a catalog of crave-worthy grub, including barbecue baked chicken; fried garlic wings; handmade beef, turkey or salmon burgers; mac and cheese; chili; sausage and meatball sandwiches; Polish classics like pierogi and kielbasa; cornbread; and classic sides like sweet potato fries and beer-battered onion rings. The service is friendly and fast, everything is made fresh daily, and the prices are unbeatable. For the best value, order one of their special platters, which include two sides and a roll for less than $10.

I got the bbq chicken sandwich and a cup of Mac and cheese. Honestly I’d understand if they were closing and just put together whatever they had but I had ordered well over an hour before they did. The $6 LARGE cup of Mac and cheese was warm but they didn’t even bother to fill it up and for $6 I could’ve honestly made it at home and I should’ve, especially since it tastes like any easy make at home Mac and cheese box. The bbq chicken sandwich was $10… the bread was hard, stale. For it to be called a bbq chicken sandwich is just wrong, they should call it “Grilled chicken sandwich” because you have to add the bbq yourself. Also it got cold after like 10 seconds of when I opened it. They were nice people, but lowkey the food wasn’t great.

Located inside Reading Terminal Market, we went over the weekend and ordered the buffalo wings that were also hot and sweet. Taste was amazing, food was warm. Hard to get seating as there were not a lot of tables when we had went on Saturday, something to plan ahead for if possible.

We went to Philadelphia for the day and the market was a great option to taste bits of local food. We had the classic Philly Cheesesteak sandwich with fries, and it didn’t disappoint. It’s hard to find comfortable sitting here and the market is vibrant and bustling with turists, but it’s totally worth a visit when in Philly.

Service was nasty, especially the lil short guy that look like he got eye liner on in the front making the plates, his attitude alone would make anyone not wanna return. The wing minimum are also pretty strange. Minimum of 4 for these or 8 for those. I ordered all these wings under the assumption that they would taste as good as they look. But soon as I made it home, they smelled like a dog cage, the sauce is dry, and the wings hard as hell. I ended up using sweet baby rays sauce just to try to finish them so I didn’t feel like I wasted $27

I’m not sure when this place changed ownership/management but it has gone downhill. They used to be known for their cornbread, they no longer sell it. I ordered a large cup of Mac and it wasn’t filled to the top; it tasted like instant Mac with a layer of cheddar added to the top. I also bought whole wings; the sauce was good but the skin was too tough to chew and the chicken was dried out. Lastly, the line wasn’t too long but service was extremely slow. Oh and btw they don’t sell blue cheese. My total was a bit over $20 for 6 wings and large mac, my money could have been spent elsewhere.

I definitely do not recommend this place. The food wasn’t that good, the people weren’t friendly, and it took a long time. We stopped here for lunch and I really regret it. I got the chili cheese dog, my bf got the pizza dog, and we split fries and a Mac n cheese. The fries and Mac n cheese were just ok. We did find a weird green spot on the Mac n cheese though that was concerning. The hot dogs and buns were dry. The chili was dry and flavorless. I definitely think there are better places to go in reading terminal.

Delicious! I had the baked Mac n cheese, string beans and hot barbecue wings. Also a piece of pineapple corn bread. Everything was good. I would definitely go back.

Very recommended! Came back for more of their spicy buffalo wings and order more of their sauce (i think it’s 1.35$) when you heated up at home you’ll need extra sauce to make it more delicious !! Their mac and cheese is to die for too! good customer service as well 🙂

Food isn’t good. Corn tasteless, chicken tasteless and cold. Potatoes uncooked. Food and warmers are cold . I paid $20 for my meal and it just wasn’t anything. I threw most of it away . No drink. Pineapple cornbread was only thing that was ok. Money hungry. They need to be surveyed for cold food . We may get sick

My partner ordered pizza fries specifying that they were vegetarian and could not eat meat. They then tried to put the sauce from the meatballs in it with clumps of meat in it, which I would not have noticed if I wasn’t watching. Then they claimed they had no regular sauce they could give me which makes no sense. When I went to get ask for a refund they asked for the receipt, which had fallen out of my pocket and whoever was at the register started laughing. It is very inappropriate. On top of that we ordered a burger which they completely burned and is charred all over the bottom.
