First let me say, me and my partner love dining here at the Kearny hook and reel. I’m not exaggerating when I say we order carry out or dine in at least once a month. We have yet to find a better place that matches the flavor in their seafood boil. However, we were so sad with our last carry out order that we ordered a couple weeks ago. We always do a large boil, and we always get 1 lb of the black mussels. When we received our boil more than half of the mussles were closed (dead/unedible). We were so disappointed. I attempted to reach out to customer service via email and through the app, but unfortunately no response. If I pay for a pound of any kind of seafood I am expecting for the food to be cooked properly and ready to eat. Hence why I decided to leave a review I don’t think you’ll have this problem if you dine in, (maybe a couple of closed mussels) but my partner and I love to order carry out and eat at home, so unfortunately we are going to have to switch to the other hook and reel locations.

Service was AMAZING!!! Our server Cali was the best. Very outgoing and genuinely loved talking with us. Food was fresh and delicious. I recommend getting the garlic butter sauce with your boil. 10/10 would come again!

Sandro is the best!! When you come here ask for Sandro, the head bartender. My boyfriend and I came here for a date night and it was our first time here at HOOK & REEL because we have never experienced it. And it was beyond amazing. Every Saturday night they have DJ SAV and he plays the best music ever. The amount of food we got for the price that we got was everything.
