I’ve been here a few times and the food never disappoints. The sea bass dish is a must. I’d also recommend the crab noodles and the scallop app. Great little byob spot but service tends to be slow. I still recommend this place because the dishes are fantastic. This would be a good date spot.

Was very excited to try Kat Khao because of all the great reviews, and the menu looked amazing. Unfortunately it was very disappointing – none of the food was bad, but nothing was particularly great either. The wagyu bahn mi sando was the most disappointing – you can see how overcooked it was; it was fine, but tasted like a normal semi-tough steak. The crab in the garlic noodles was also super bland and the texture was not ideal. Again, the noodles themselves were tasty – very garlicky- but the crab didn’t seem to add anything (except protein). Pho was good, but Saigon Cafe does it better.

The food was not timed well at all, the ramen was ready when we weren’t even finished with either of the two appetizers, and it was a struggle to fit the dishes on the table, then the other entree came a while later. Took a long time to get the check, too.

Also, the red chairs were SO UNCOMFORTABLE…

Kat Khao is a great spot in Jersey City if you’re looking for delicious and creative Vietnamese fusion. The menu offers some exciting takes on classic dishes. I tried the Chilean Sea Bass Cha Ca, and it was fantastic – flavorful, perfectly cooked, and a real highlight. I also ordered the Vegan Summer Rolls. While they were fresh and well-made, they were pretty standard and didn’t have the same unique flair as the sea bass. Overall, a solid choice for a tasty meal. I’d definitely recommend focusing on their more inventive fusion dishes!

Good food but small portions. We ordered 2 entrees and a side. We were still hungry so ordered the tebasaki but it came after 30 minutes or so. It was a busy night but it felt like too long for tebasaki.

I ordered the sea bass. It didn’t say on the menu that it had noodles in it so I ordered rice on the side. The server did not inform us and when we asked questions about the food they gave us the wrong information, sounded like they didn’t know the menu. Like I asked about the tebasaki and he really couldn’t explain the dish but he said it’s good and very popular.

Creative, well executed and delicious dishes! Ube Tiramisu was the highlight! Summe rolls and gyoza stuffed chicken wings were both amazing. Crab garlic noodles and waghu pho were great too.

Amazing food and great hospitality. I’d highly recommend this place to anyone who enjoys Japanese and Vietnamese cuisines and is looking for unique flavor combinations; casual yet truly experiential dinner. Try the beef sandwich and summer rolls as starters and do not question how a summer roll can be this good -its that good

The food is amazing, full stop. I had an incredible experience at Kat Khao on Friday night! I had dinner with a group of four and we split two appetizers and four entrees, which had us feeling very full!

We had the filet mignon bahn mi and vegan rolls to start – the filet mignon were incredibly tender and incredibly well cooked. The vegan rolls were fresh and delicious!

For entrees, we had the unshaken beef, Cajun prawns, Chilean sea bass, and crab garlic noodles. Each dish blew my mind. I am a foodie and have been to hundreds of restaurants in NYC – this place is better than most places I’ve tried in Manhattan! Each dish has a unique flavor, cooked perfectly, and easy to share. I’m not even exaggerating when I say that each new bite was a delight! It’s wonderful to find high quality spots in Jersey City without needing to go across the river to NYC.

We also tried the lychee paloma mocktail! It was delicious and it’s wonderful that this place had a wide selection of inclusive non-alocholic options.

I am already looking forward to my next visit!! 100/10 recommend!

We came here last night and had a great meal.

We got the stuffed wings as an appetizer which had a really good flavor and were super tender. I’ve never had anything like it before tbh. mix of spicy and savory.

i got the prawns for dinner and my fiance got the crab pasta. Both were so good. We brought a bottle of orange wine which went well with the food.

the prawns were delicious and the sauce / garlic toast was incredible.

there was so much crab in the crab pasta and it tasted tender and fresh.

Can’t believe we slept on this place for as long as we did. Can’t wait to come back!
