If you haven’t had Harold’s Chicken before, you’re missing out. This is exactly what I had growing up in Chicago and it’s amazing. The service was excellent and I got a half dark with extra mild sauce. Perfection.

The food was terrible, I couldn’t even eat it. The chiken wings were covered in feathers, and dry on the inside. The catfish was overcooked, had no flavor, and was also dry on the inside. The fries were very over cooked as well. The only positive was that the food was very hot.

Could be a LOT cleaner. Food is fresh, hot, and tasty. Floor is usually sticky with crumbs, tables need wiped, flies. Service is pretty decent.

We were passing through Cedar Rapids today and stopped into Harold’s. 10/10 customer service and 10/10 quality and taste of our food. We ordered wing combo, a dark chicken combo, catfish and don’t get me started on their homemade fruit punch. The cashier was friendly and beautiful. The kitchen staff was friendly as well, giving us extra lemon pepper upon request and they were also very professional and apologetic when we mentioned they shorted us one wing. It is very hard to find customer service of this kind anymore along with fresh flavorful food made to order! We will definitely be back next time we are in the area (bring Harold’s to Des Moines pretty please!!). Thank you all for a wonderful experience. Praying for continued success in the newly reopened establishment.

Stopped in for our first time tonight! I was so excited as I’ve heard such good things! The service was amazing with everyone so helpful! The woman working the counter was exceptionally nice and helped us order just what we wanted!! So welcoming! The lemon pepper chicken was probably some of the best I’ve had… definitely up there with grandmas! White meat wasn’t dry and the flavor slapped!! Definitely coming back!!! Thank you Harold’s for an amazing experience!

The service was friendly but didn’t get the food how I ordered it. Not sure if it’s the person that took the order or a cook issue. But, the food was awful. Chicken was rubbery, without the seasonings and the fries were extremely soggy. Mushrooms were, eh. Can’t really mess up a frozen food accessable at any tavern. So disappointed the star of the show (chicken) was such a let down. The floor was also extremely muddy. It hasn’t rained in days…

Fried chicken smelled very fishy and tasted like old stinky fish, one of the chicken pieces was spoiled, I had to throw rest of food in trash, who ever is cooking at this place should not be a cook. Fries were good and real not frozen but same issue very fishy, chicken was very small in size.
