My husband’s coworker said, Alex’s has good Mexican food and a buffet. Good Mexican food is rare to us and a buffet as well as menu to order from. We had to check it out. Yes! They have very good Mexican food. The waitress was nice and sweet and her English was fine. The food was so damn delicious I couldn’t eat another bite or surely I’d waddle out. The flavor was so good. The cerveche was full of shrimp and onions, cucumber and minced jalapeño. We will definitely come back for more!

Tested this place out today as we were passing by. We were told to sit where we wanted. I wish we knew ahead of time that we could order off the menu and do the buffet because I felt like it was a waste of money for my picky children to eat off the buffet. In the future we will know. I do not typically enjoy a buffet but the food stayed in rotation and I did not feel as though what I ate was dried out or old. I will definitely give this place another try but will remember that the kids are better off ordering off the menu.

Alex’s has a delicious buffet with many different options. They also have a regular menu to order from, however I haven’t ordered off the menu yet but I’m sure it’s just as good as the buffet. Some of my favorites are their chicken mole, the chicken and steak fajitas, and especially the tamales. They’re some of the best I’ve had in a long time. I haven’t had anything there that I didn’t love. The employees are very nice, professional, and are on top of keeping the buffet well stock with fresh food coming out all the time. It has quickly become one of my favorite restaurants!

Tacos and wings??? We had to try this place the minute we saw the open sign!
Service – 10/10 we were welcomed the minute we walked in. Our server was super nice and tentative!
Food- 10000/10 the tortillas on the tacos were so good… Soft, single tortilla, good amount of meat. Red and green sauces .
Enchiladas were piping hot, green sauce was delicious, rice and refried beans were equally as good. I would opt for the grilled chicken next time though.
Wings were extra crispy, sauce was pepper and hot!
And lastly, horchata came in a giant frosted beer mug!!!!

Will have to give this place a second try bc if I went on a one time experience, then this would be a 1 star review. You are welcomed when you go inside, they seat you, get you a drink, and ask if you want menu or buffet. Look before you answer. I wish I did tonight. This was our first time here, went with buffet and realized the food was old. The chicken wings were jerky wings, the meat was hard to pull apart, the soup was good, the flavored rices (2 types) were good but you could see even it was drying out from being there so long. The food was flavorful but wished it was feesh instead of looking like it was sitting there for a few hours. We showed up around 6:30pm so figured it would fresh but they didn’t start bringing out fresh shrimp and wings until after 7. Maybe we hit them at a wrong time so will try again later later, not right now right now. Especially bc we paid $40 for old food.

This is the only place you need to go to in Rivergate for REAL authentic Mexican food. It tasted so fresh. We had the Taco Salad Jalisco and the Grilled Steak Texas Style Tacos. The wings were juicy and delicious. Great combination for lunch.

We went to eat on Monday 1-11-26 at this restaurant to try the food but it was not good. We ate from the buffet and the food was cold. A customer seems to left the restaurant and the plates and utensils were on the table since we got there and the floor were nasty around that table and no one clean the area. No one , no waitresses clean the area. Plus , the buffet was too expensive for the quality of the food. My first time and last time. Overall was nasty.
