My wife and I had dinner here on the 4th of July. The hostess was very friendly, and we were seated immediately. They were busy, so table service was a little slower than ideal, but our server was great, and our food arrived quickly. They had a good selection of wines and craft beers. We split a salad, pizza, and dessert. The food was delicious, and the presentation exceeded expectations. Overall, we had a wonderful experience.

A friend and I went to check out the new Ristorante Sapori di Sicilia on a whim last night and it was amazing! The smoked olives are so unique, we joked about the pits maybe not being first date friendly lol, but the flavor was so good. We tried a couple of appetizers, the salmon tartare was so light and refreshing, the scallops were perfectly cooked and the almond sauce complimented them perfectly. We each got a pizza and shared so we could experience more of the menu, the Palazzolese was our favorite. The crust is definitely a highlight of these pizzas! Can’t wait for my next visit.

Sapori di Sicilia has done it again—first with their cafe, and now with their new restaurant. It’s a refreshing and unique addition to Winona’s dining scene, just like their cafe has always been. The atmosphere is elegant, the staff is fantastic, and the food speaks for itself. The Porchetta Pistachio pizza I had was full of flavor, and the authentic Sicilian dough took it to the next level. I also tried oysters for the first time and was surprised by how much I enjoyed them and the Italian sauce that came with them. This spot brings big-city quality to a small town. Definitely worth checking out.

I had a lot of high hopes for this place. I’ve previously been to their cafe that has been established for some time and have always had a GREAT experience. I figured this would be the same… Unfortunately, we (party of 3) went around 5:30pm, and were told they only have two servings left of one of their pastas. We decided to be flexible and chose to split the two amongst the three of us. Some time later, we were then told the chef had cut his finger over the pasta noodles that were supposed to be used for our pasta dishes… Needless to say we still went with the pasta just with a different type of noodle. The dish itself was pretty good. However, when we were approached by the manager, and tried to ask for some sort of small discount on the meal, we were immediately shut down and only offered a glass of wine. When we tried to ask for one of our wines to be comped instead, rather than get more drinks, that was declined as well. We are all very understanding individuals, but the demeanor of the manager was very unprofessional. After being in the serving industry myself, I would have never approached customers in that way…. Let alone as a manager of a new establishment. Jaida, our server, however handled the situation well and was trying to be as accommodating as possible. She was very kind.

I’ll start by saying the food was overall good and the atmosphere was great. Staff was undertrained which is expected for a new restaurant. The main reason for my rating was just how overpriced everything was. $14-16 cocktails that weren’t anything special, the Lafayette in town is better. And the pizza, $20 specialty pizzas that are very small 8” pizzas and they were also nothing special, muddled time pizzas are much better, bigger, and tastier and they average about $5 cheaper making that the place I’d much rather go. I hope this place develops a more established menu, larger pizzas, and really works on making their prices justifiable.

The restaurant itself has elegant decor. However, the food was mostly bland. We had an issue when we ordered Seabass which is our favorite, and it came with the head and tail overhanging the plate. We were surprised at this presentation, and asked if the kitchen would cut off the head and tail and just give us the center of the fish. We were told that the Chef would not do this. We were offered a Salmon dish instead and found that to be enjoyable. When the bill came, the Seabass was on the bill. Again we were perplexed as we did not eat the Seabass,
as the chef refused to cut the head and tail off. An offer to box it up to take home would have been best, as we paid $40 for something we did not eat or take home.
Not sure this was the best experience to have us return again. The manager said that the owner would have to approve the change in the bill but he was too busy to talk to us. We left him our phone number and have not heard back .

This restaurant is highly overrated. The service was poor from the start — we requested a booth by the window while one was clearly open and another became available shortly after, but the hostess insisted none would be available anytime soon.
Service throughout the visit felt rushed and unprofessional, with little attention to customer experience. The atmosphere and management style give the impression that the place is run more like a student project than a serious restaurant.
With so many better options available, we will not be returning.

I’ve been to Taormina, Sicily and this Pizza reminds me of that. Great crust, wonderful sauce, beautiful toppings.
This is the REAL thing.
