Best Mexican restaurant in the san dimas/ Pomona/Claremont/Montclair area.. la verne came through clutch with the Mexican food open earlier then the other local Mexican spots .. chilaquiles verdes with egg on point. Tacos were the test if u can’t make a good street taco then I won’t bother and the tacos were good couldnt throw shade on em so they got me as a customer..and cold beer always a plus ….only one thing it would be cool if they had stools at the bar

We celebrated my friends’ birthdays at Mi Cocina. They’re Mexican and I’m from Hawai’i. The food portions were so generous and my burrito camarones was so huge with giant shrimp inside! The wine margaritas my friends had were also enormous and they enjoyed them immensely. Our waiter, Armando, was professional, knowledgeable, engaging and went the extra mile for us. He brewed a fresh pot of coffee just for us. He was attentive and brought our water to us as asked. He worked so hard providing us with excellent service. He even put our cake in the icebox! My friend’s daughter loved the chips and salsa and seemed obsessed with it. We had an amazing time at Mi Cocina and hope to return. Gracias and Mahalo for all your Aloha! You made my friends’ birthdays very special. We appreciate it!

Fast service and great food. The salad is incredible!
They start you off with chips and salsa and I’ve got to say, if you like green salsa, this is damn near perfect. The chips to go along with it are amazing also.
I had the chili verde plate and it was packed with flavor. The pork was super soft and delirious as were the rice and beans. The corn tortillas were fantastic also. Big portion of food also.
My buddy had the el Heffe burrito and he said it was perfect. He finished it all which is amazing because of how enormous it was. He said the steak was delicious.
Edit: came back two days later to try something else…. I’m glad I did because the tamale with their green sauce is sooooo good. I also had some street tacos. This place is just great!

Came here for lunch with my boss and I was pretty impressed with the food. Being from Mexican decent I know the true taste of a Mexican dish. I got the pork chile verde dish and it didn’t disappoint. I did feel the place was a little stuffy for my liking but overall it was good.

This is a long due review. Well for starters, Mi Cocina is nice, open, clean, has a friendly vibes and staff. I first tried their food in mid June and was impressed by the the Carne asada plate, the food was delicious and portions were nice. I tried a michelada and had to order a second due to how well prepared they are. Prior to leaving I ordered some nachos to go, this is where things went south, chips were stale, food was mediocre at best. The asada looked like ground beef and had a weird flavor about it like not bad but different and not good. Fast forward a few months and I decided to try it out again a few days ago, I ordered a El Jefe Burrito with asada as my protein of choice, I decided to get a large horchata with my order, somehow my total came up to $19 and change which is insane but whatever I forked it up. I walked across the street to the university, sat down and started eating. My burrito almost fell apart as soon as I picked it up leading me to believe this was not going to be a happy experience, the burrito was bland, asada was finely chopped once again resembling ground beef, flavor was not good at all, the ratio of beans and rice to asada was not appetizing. If I was starving and I had to choose between a pre-made sandwich and food at mi cocina, I’d go for that pre-made sandwich. Check out the roll on that burrito, SMH.

After hearing several people tell me they enjoyed the service, ambiance, and chips/salsa at Mi Cocina, I decided to visit the restaurant for some take-out on Saturday.
I ordered a Chili Relleno with a side of rice and beans, deep-fried shrimp taco. I almost ordered chips/salsa, but the waitress informed me they were complimentary and I would receive some—score!
*sigh* when I got home, there were no chips and salsa, but I was okay with that small mistake; it happens.
Sadly, the quality of the food did not make up for the loss of chips/salsa. The rice and beans were so bland. My Chili Relleno was bland. The best-tasting thing was the shrimp taco, and the crema was the saving grace—the shrimp were deep fried differently than I had ever seen, and I was not a fan.
Sadly, I will not return, which is a shame because the location is cute, and the staff were very friendly and attentive.

Food is as authentic Mexican as it gets. Made me feel like I was eating at home or at grandmas house. It’s my new “any day” place to eat Mexican food!
