Everything we have tried at Koi has been excellent!
Fresh sushi, great presentation and good service. We have tried to order every item in their menu and we never get disappointed. Spicy tuna dumplings, Takoyaki balls, Angus beef wrap, everything is delicious. And usually we get surprised by James’s specials, items not in the menu that are to die for! Great variety of cocktails and we love them all. Angela and James always make my family feel like we are their only customer! 100% recommended

Sushi was very tasty. Did not get any raw fish so can’t speak on that but the specialty rolls were delicious. Service was very friendly and the cocktails were creative and tasty, and well- priced.

I spent quite some money only to pull a long hair out of my mouth along with metal bristles. Also, my kids finding metal pieces of bristles in their hibachi rice with a side of hair. Mortified! This was for delivery and the bag was sealed nicely.

Three highlights: service, price and the koi pond. This is a run-of-the-mill Japanese restaurant (run by Chinese staff), so nothing too spectacular but everything clean, fresh, healthy and regular. We ordered the 7-pc appetizer Tempura, two plates of sushi rolls (my son had tuna while my vegetarian daughter and I shared a plate of veggie roll) and three mains (veggie teriyaki , chicken noodle hibachi and veggie soba noodle soup). The best feature of our dinner was the sushi rolls, while the veggies in our vegetarian mains were a bit too chunky for our taste :-). We had a very attentive waiter, which enhanced our experience. He told me that the kitchen made a special vegetarian broth for my noodle soup, instead of using the usual chicken broth. With so much food and one drink, our bill came to less than what we would have paid for half of the volume at most other places. Nice!

The sushi was melt in your mouth amazing! I came pretty close to closing with my family after traveling all day, and they were able to make us food pretty quickly while still making it delicious, highly recommend! They even have a cool little koi pond set up towards the back of the restaurant, it is definitely a vibe

This place is great ! Just picked up my takeout from here. The person that handed me the food was very courteous. The food was well packaged, including the sauces so it doesn’t spill onto the other items. The California roll and Crispy crab. Rangoon taste really good!!!.

I spent my pre-teen years in Pearl River but left when I was 13 when my family moved to the city (in 1963). I just came back for a maybe last look-see (I’m 75), and found not one, not two, but three Japanese restaurants downtown. I chose Koi 21 for probably irrational reasons.
I had the Angus beef Teriyaki, and it was simply amazing. Perfectly cooked, tender, and nestled on also perfectly cooked vegetables. And all for a really reasonable price.
The chuckling of the waterfall added to the quiet, classic atmosphere.
If I was going to be in the area tomorrow, I’d go back, but I have to go (sob).

I have ordered for take out, never been inside decided to go inside yesterday since i was craving sushi. The place feels peaceful when you walk in. I went in just for appetizers and the service was great! Really nice young host she gave me 20 min wait time but my order was ready in about 5-10 mins. Sushi was amazing as so the shrimp shumai.
