If you look up “hidden gem” in the dictionary, you’ll find a picture of Champ’s Deli Restaurant.
I’ve passed by this spot so many times and never gave it a second look but now that I know it exists, I wish I would’ve gone sooner.
They have a wide assortment of different foods to choose from ranging from foods you’d find in a traditional deli, to American classics, some Mexican items and a fair amount of Korean dishes as well. I’ve only been once, but I’m eager to go back and try out more of their menu.
During my visit, I had the Champ’s Cheeseburger. It’s a bacon cheeseburger with avocado and a fried egg on top. It was as messy as it was delicious.
I opted to make it a combo. It came with crinkle cut fries. They were perfectly seasoned. They were crispy on the outside, nice and fluffy on the inside. They were pretty much perfect.
Champs is definitely worthy of the name and I’m excited to return.

Saw a 1 star review about no bathrooms is kind of petty. There’s plenty of places with no bathrooms. Actually try the food, use your hand sanitizer, God knows since covid everyone has some.
Anyways on to my review:
Was expecting an Italian deli. Looks like it was originally one only but now it’s under new management/ownership? I originally wanted a deli sandwich but saw they were also basically a Korean restaurant, I ordered the beef bulgolgi burrito. This was pretty tasty. I just wish they was more meat and instead of lettuce to use kimchi instead. A little pricey considering there wasn’t any one else in the shop. I think if they lowered it by a dollar would still be reasonable. I do recommend the burrito.

The food and the service is always great. Fast & friendly. The place is always clean, including the restroom. Ample seating, ample parking, and a great variety of menu items.

Get there now! Thank me later. Why? Best. Fried. Chicken. EVER! Really. Lemme break it down…got a 16 piece and had half crispy original and half honey soy garlic. We couldn’t eat them fast enough! The crispy crispness of each perfectly cooked chicken morsel was delicious! Seriously…go support a local business and enjoy the best damn friend chicken ever! With great service too!

The best sandwich place in Long Beach hands down!!! Don’t be thrown off by the location. This place is legit. I ordered the Turkey Club and my girlfriend ordered the Turkey Avocado sandwich. Both sandwiches had the softest bread with succulent Turkey slices.

Great little place with delicious food. A wide variety to please everyone in the family. I tried their sandwiches, club ans pastrami both delicious. We’ve tried ther breakfast burritos and it is delicious. We tried their Koren menu and everyone else was happy with their choice. Prices are very reasonable! Overall they are very friendly, something you might not experience everywhere you go.

Nice and clean place. I got chicken wings and they make them just how I like them, very fry, they gave me 3 types of sauces, ranch, ketchup and something spice that was good. The costumer service is good too. Other thing I love is the fresh squeeze orange juice they have for $3. I would definitely be back here.

I lived in Long Beach for three years and never even saw this place. I was driving home from Costco and saw this shop and wow. I got the chicken teriyaki sandwich and can’t wait to come back next week! Everything on the menu looked great. The sandwich I got was the perfect amount of teriyaki sauce and the chicken was so tender and delicious- the perfect amount too! Not too much, certainly not too little, and perfectly cooked! The bread was so soft and paired perfectly. The pickles and carrots on the side were a great addition. I can’t wait to bring my friends and family here.

Very unassuming location, in a small industrial mall, but one that holds a delicious secret. I had the tuna kinbap and Korean sweet and spicy wings. Both were amazing. Crispy wings full of flavor. Definitely worth a quick visit if you in the area
