I had the duck breast salad two days in a row to see about consistency. It was very good both times. It is a little spendy for lunch, $16 for the salad, but how often do you get duck breast for lunch in Port Hueneme. I hear the breakfast are very good so I’m going to try. Staff are really friendly. Very nice change from the usual fare for lunch.

An unfortunate experience. I was enticed by the name of the restaurant, as I am a French/Swiss/now proud citizen of the U.S.A person who enjoys a taste of “home” from time to time. My friend and I walked in to this charming eatery, sat down and proceed to order. We were served a well presented meal which was very good. At the end of the meal the waitress presented the check. My friend and I had already decided that we wanted to order the bread pudding for dessert, but once we mentioned that to the waitress, she looked at us as though we were imposing on her. She then proceeds to tell us that the chef’s assistant went home unexpectedly (the chef is the owner) and that she will have to ask the chef if she wants to make the bread pudding, as she is currently overwhelmed with a couple of other orders (the place was not busy). We stated at first that we didn’t mind waiting the half hour to get the dessert. The waitress came out a couple of minutes later with a look of dread on her face which spoke in volumes: the chef didn’t want to make us dessert. I have never been put in this sort of situation, but if I were the owner of an 8-month old business, I would have come out to the patron and apologized for the unfortunate situation, and I would have offered free dessert for the next time to entice my patron to come back. None of this happened. I have never felt more unwelcome in a restaurant and I will never go back.

Amazing French restaurant that is new to the area! Each dish I have gotten has been excellently prepared and very good! My favorite so far has been the Beef Bourguignon, but the menu seems to change frequently so you never know what the chef might have ready for the day! Every dish has always been great with great service and friendly staff as well.

A real gem of French cuisine not far from the beach. Delicious breakfast of Croque Madame, and Eggs Benedict with mushrooms and garlic fries. Charming chef/owner and awesome serving staff. Definitely our new favorite Sunday morning stop.

We came in and the chef gave her recommendations right away to us, which, of course, we gladly accepted. The food was the best I have had in town and the service was excellent. If you’re looking for the perfect lunch place, go here.

Terrible experience owner and chef didn’t want to take people in at 1030 and came out complaining and saying what am I supposed to do not wanting to serve us . After we said ok we probably won’t be back she screamed don’t come back. All this after waiting 15 minutes to be seated. The owner/chef was very rude. Her staff is amazing but she was terrible I don’t suggest this place to any one it used to be a great place I guess not now
