I really love that Mountain Top has a new sushi hibachi restaurant! The atmosphere is very nice and modern. The service is very good, with nice wait staff and fast service. The food is also very good! I like the way they have the menu set up and have more options than traditional sushi hibachi restaurants. I would suggest trying a little of everything at this hidden gem.

Went here for the first time tonight, (Valentines Day), for date night with the hubby. We had a reservation for hibachi, which was in a private hibachi area. The other party that was supposed to be seated with us cancelled so we ended up having an entire private setting all to ourselves! For starters the service was AMAZING. Our hibachi chef was top notch, our favorite one yet! He even made us balloon swords and brought us roses. The wait staff were all extremely polite, friendly, and on point with everything. The restaurant itself is gorgeous and clean and modern. We are hibachi lovers so we have tried every hibachi in the Valley and WOW this one takes the cake! This is now our fav spot for Hibachi. Between the food, the amazing quality and taste, and the whole vibe of the restaurant and the staff, all 10’s across the board! Thank you for a beautiful evening, we will be back!

Great date night! We had reservations for a table but ended up asking to sit at the bar instead to watch tv. Jimmy and staff were great! Great drinks and personable. He let us know the specials. We ordered 4 sushi rolls, noodles, and chicken drunken noodles. The drunken noodles were to die for. They were way better than any normal Thai cuisine. The ingredients were just so fresh. We will definitely be back.

Wanted to try this place since it had so many good reviews and looking for a place that was clean. Decided to get take out. Basically I got shafted. Ordered $100 dollars worth of food that was nasty. Ordered the Bento dinner chicken and there was so much onion hardly any sauce and 1 carrot and 1 piece of broccoli. The sushi was ok; a bit tough but the sashimi deluxe was gritty, tough and hardly any flavor. I get better sushi/sashimi from Sam’s Club. It only came with soup, where as most places you get soup, salad and 15 pieces of sashimi for the same cost. I will NOT be going back. Wish I could get half the money back because it wasn’t even worth that much. I guess you go there for the drinks not the food.

It was our 1st time here, and it was definitely last! Date night (Sunday) Decided not to go too far away from our area. We were in the mood for sushi and heard this place open recently in Mountain top. We were greeted very well, but once seated, our waiter (older gentleman w lenses) seemed like he was not having a good day/night! He was very pushy for drinks and even seemed annoyed when we told him it was our first time there since we are patrons of the Jim Thorpe area! No suggestions at all. He seemed to just wanting to know what we wanted for drinks!! I ordered our drinks, fried Calamari and edamami to start since we were starving anyway. I asked what sauce the Calamari came with and our waiter was even more perturbed!!!
Hubby was afraid to order anything after that attitude! We finally settled on the “love boat” which is what we usually get anyway. As you can see, the Calamari was burnt to a crisp, hard like a rock!!! It’s not worth the price at all….i managed to eat it because i was starving! Never uhgain! pictures dont lie!!! The edamame was good.
The sushi? fish taste fresh and flavorful. However, the fish could have been cut a tad smaller. It was very unappealing trying to eat it. We spent over $150 and as usual always take care of our waiters well above 20% but so not worth it!! I would rather go to Tang Asian or Mizu in the Wilkes Barre area. Their sushi is much tastier and have waiters w less attitudes who give you great eats suggestions!
For the older male person w the glasses who waited on us, may I suggest to pls remember other people have hard jobs too. You should be a tad considerate, especially since your job depends on tips.

Ordered Hibachi, so cant really speak to this locations other food avail on the menu. Have also been to Jim Thorpe location, but…not for hibachi. Hibachi was atypical. Skimpy – forgettable. Strange order of delivery, and zero extras. My vegetables consisted of about a medium sized palm full. Salad and soup: salad ok, soup, possibly beef? Seemed boxed. Ordered Salmon & Scallop. Drinks: very delayed, no follow up. Serving staff was very nice once you get to see them – possibly overwhelmed. Nice atmosphere.

Firstly I’d like to say we have had the food both in and take out… your people are the best asset to the establishment. Hibachi food was good but it is SUPER cold over there (it’s rare I even put on a jacket in winter let alone while I eat).
Sushi has some issues (outlined below). For the love of God management…. DONT PUT THE SUSHI ON TOP OF THE HOT FOOD IN A TAKE OUT BAG!! At $15 a roll, no one wants hot soggy sushi only 15 minutes later (registered at 111°F)
Miso Soup – 8/10, had good flavor and seaweed.
Crab Rangoon – 10/10 best item we have had here to date.
Chicken fingers – 4/10 only because what my son was given…. was a slammed chicken cutlet?? Incredibly dry and super overcooked – let alone this + fries are $14.50?! And take out the frie serving was half what we got eat in.
French fries – (eat in) 10/10 some of the best fries I’ve had in the area which is funny.
Pink Lady Roll – 9/10, very good and the mango is a good unique addition.
Hot Girl Roll – 3/10, the fish was somehow dry? and the consistency of catfood. Color was VERY odd looking like literalcat food- Photo attached..
Steak hibachi – 7/10, portion size of steak was small but tasted good the rice/noodles combo was delicious and the chef did a good job.
Chicken hibachi – 8/10, seasoning and flavor was good.
Overall, it’s a good place… some of the food items could certainly be improved on especially for the price. The people are great so far… we will be back to try some other items but it’s not the show stopper we were hoping for compared to their Jim Thorp location (but still better than Tsuki over in hazelton)

The food is great and plentiful, huge menu to choose from, with something for everyone. Service is great. However, on trivia night or any other night with every table filled, you better be patient and kind. The staff is doing their best to accommodate every guest to their full satisfaction. Great place.

You Need To Know? Arrived on a Friday night with reservations. The restaurant was pretty busy. Had to ask to turn off the AC as it was very cold with a steady draft. Waitress informed us that they had NO heat & the restaurant was closed the previous 2 nights due to the heating problem. Dinner with coats on it was then. We all ordered hibachi dinners. A filet mignon, scallops & filet, chicken & filet, & then we ordered a General Tso Chicken dinner to go. The portion sizes were certainly plentiful & the food was excellent. No complaints at all regarding the food itself & it’s flavor. After we finished our meals the waitress asked us if we wanted dessert or a warm car already…lol…we chose the warm car & asked for our bill. When our bill arrived we noticed the To-Go order was not on there. When we brought it to our waitresses attention she apologized & never put the order into the kitchen. We had to wait an additional 20 mins for our take out which was frustrating at this point. Again, the food itself was very good, but no heat on a cold wintery night & forgetting our order just wasn’t making for a good experience, lowering our rating. Now You Know! -TBH
