The oxtail went so fast I didn’t even have any lol
The jerk chicken was amazing.
The mac and cheese was soooo goooooddd and the cabbage was excellent.
Thank you so much once again for catering for our wedding.
Everyone loved the food!!
As we walked through the door, we were greeted by the intoxicating smells of the Jamican foods on the menu as well as the owner who stated she was thinking of us… she wished us happy new year and was glad we came in…
The choices were mind boggling. My freind Michael Parker – chose the oxtails and pork ribs.. these were served over rice n beans. Calico cabbage and plaintians.
Not sure what to have, the host made my plate.
The rice n beans followed by a,sampling of curried goat, roast pork and chicken stew in brown sauce.. the calico cabbge, and a sampling of calaloo, plantains. Phew.. For a side i had to have a beef pattie, my friend ordered a side quart of chicken soup with Jamican dumplings…
The layers of intense flavors and hits of their fiery hot sauce…
I statred with the pattie, yes im a “junkie”…my first bite was the curried goat, woow the instant hit of the fiery sauce lit my whole face up.. from there was a trip around the plate to experience all the rich savory flavors…a ice cold beverage helped to cool down.
My freinds oxtail did not disappoint, deep rich savory sauce and meat the fell off the bone…the pork ribs, outrageously delicious…the soup, with its rich thick broth- savory seasond chicken and vegetables, the dumplings were thick and made the soup.
No great meal would be finished if not for something sweet.
There on the counter was the last hunk piece of coconut “cracklen”…a blend of cane sugar and cinnamon , chunks of fresh coconut and fresh ginger.
This sweet-tart treat with the rest of the cold beverage.. Ahhhh.. contentment.
If you are in the mood for authentic Jamican food, take a trip to Mandee’s in fishkill.
