Best gelato I have ever had! And I’ve had my fair share of gelato. All of the ones pictured are made in the kitchen, which is located feet away from the display. I had the passionfruit and yogurt which was well made although the yogurt made it a little bit runny. The taste was out of this world.
The best part of the experience was the knowledgeable young lady behind the counter who shared her recommendations as she has been coming here since she was a little girl. When I loved was her enthusiasm for her employer, something that you don’t see in many young people in nowadays, but which will serve her well in the future. This is a must go to in a city with several gelato shops.

The best gelato in the city! If you have the chance to sign up for one of their gelato make and take classes, do it. This is an amazing hands-on experience with plenty of tasting opportunities!
Justin and Kristin are so friendly and we all really enjoyed hearing about their unique experiences living in Italy as they taught the class how they make their gelato, step by step with this hands-on experience.
We made strawberry basil balsamic gelato, and also got to taste strawberry mascarpone and fragola sorbet for this class, and got to take home a pint of the flavor we made in the class.
Don’t miss out on their next opportunity to meet them and taste their amazing gelato. It’s the best way to spend an evening and makes a great date night activity!

If you are looking for a taste of Italy in Louisville, look no further than Gelato Gilberto. I recently attended their Gelato 101 class at their newest location on Frankfort Ave. The owners Justin & Kristin are so passionate about their craft, and are extremely personable and friendly. They use top quality ingredients in their gelato, and you can tell by the taste! Very vibrant and fun flavors. This is small business done right. I will definitely be a regular customer!

overrated gelato! Not even close to the best I’ve had. The lady putting the ice cream in the bowls did not wear gloves, some of it was spilling on the side and I saw that she almost wanted to put it back in the cup with her bare hand but stopped.

This place is very good considering it’s gelato in Louisville Kentucky. The place is decorated very nicely. The staff is nice. We had Italian wedding cake and cream sickle. Both were very good. Would return for sure.

Love this gelato place but wish they would use paper cups and wooden spoons instead of plastic. Caffe Classico serves Gelato Gilberto gelato in these cute paper cups and it’s so much better than plastic! I also wish their store had some music or something playing inside.

It was my first time at this location. There is another one in Norton commons. This location had a lot of options including my favorite chocolate orange. I got size large and added regular chocolate, pistachio, and chocolate orange. It was around $5-$6. There is no parking lot, you have to street park.
