This place is an absolute gem! I’ve never had such fresh and flavorful food. My four shrimp tacos, loaded with mozzarella, were made to order right when they opened on a Saturday morning. Not only do they serve amazing Mexican food, but the bakery is also phenomenal. They even let me pre-order an entire carrot cake and had it prepared for me the same day. It’s rare to find such incredible quality and service. I can’t recommend Burgaw Alimente enough!

Everything is so good. One of the best mexican food places I’ve ever been too. It feels very homey and you can really see and feel how much care they put into their food and drinks.
My daughter, as well as I really enjoy the cakes there too. So do try them too. They aren’t too sweet or too bland. They are just..PERFECT. Good job!!

A lot of people think there’s not much difference between food at one place or another. Burgaw Alimente will prove that a few special places serve excellent food! Every bite was a delight! Even the chips and salsa exceeded all reasonable expectations!
The owner is a military Veteran who takes his craft seriously. He believes in excellence and strives for that with every dish served. It was an awesome experience all the way around. I’m definitely be back!

I looked all over wilmington to find a chocolate vanilla butter cream cake. My wife was in need of one and struck out. However, this place not only made it to order from scratch but with taste hit a home run! I’ll be back that’s for sure.

Place was so cool! It is a Mexican restaurant with a bakery own by couple (I believe so), they were nice and they were paying attention to our table. Everything seems that is homemade which makes it a fantastic place. We ordered the tacos with shrimp, burrito with stake, Mexican corn and a carrot cake. Everything was delicious! The carrot cake was super fresh. We will come back soon for the homemade lemonade that they ran out .

After checking reviews and photos we were hopeful, sadly we were very disappointed. The steak was questionable, the walking taco was more of a salad, and the street corn was soupy. Everything tasted frozen or out of a can. While the staff was friendly, they acted like our order for 3 people was “too big”.

The elote was amazingly flavorful, the burrito I ordered was tasty and filling, the chips and salsa were fresh and unending, and the tea/lemonades they make are so good. The the owners, (father and daughter) were kind, communicative, and attentive to their customers. We got a backstory of how Burgaw Alimente started, and it just encouraged us to stop in more often and support local restaurants! We definitely need to try the German desserts that are fresh and hand made next time, we were too full to get anything more!
