I’ve seen this place numerous times in passing but never gave it much thought. It looked like a gas station and I sorta kinda brushed it off. BIG MISTAKE!!!
I went inside and was greeted by the owner and namesake of the restaurant, Monte. Super nice guy! He took my order and promptly served up three freshly-made burgers for the kiddos and 20 teriyaki wings in no time. The kids DEVOURED the burgers and the wings were absolutely delicious! Packed with flavor and at a reasonable price. I’d certainly recommend this hidden gem to anyone in the area!

Monte has been here a very long time (previously located closer to Port Wentworth), and he is a local favorite. The food is good, the service is great, and the owner is top notch. The aesthetic is misleading, however, so there’s that.

This place is a diamond in the middle of nowhere. I usually get the Baked Ziti with sausage. Then, I add bacon to it. It also comes with garlic bread. It is delicious, and affordable especially since I usually get two meals out of it. The place is not a chain restaurant. Instead, it is owned by a family. The owner is named Monte, and he is a very friendly, down to Earth person, that will speak with you in a calm tone while serving up delicious food. The food is cooked per order, and made fresh on site. This place is highly recommended.

As a kid in the late 90’s I used to ride my bike there numerous times weekly. Mr. Monte was always a pleasure. Each visit I would get a pepperoni personal pan, peanut butter M&Ms and a cherry gold choice drink.
One of my great childhood memories feeling like an adult going to the store by myself. We moved away in 2004 but I stopped back in a few years ago while visiting in town. I walked in and explained who I was and Mr. Monte still remembered me! I got the same thing I used to get as a kid.
Mr. Monte, if you’re reading this, you run a great business with amazing pizza and thank you for always being such a great person to look up to as a kid. Hope to see you again some day.
