Good clean little restaurant with a lot of history. The daily specials read Like mama’s daily dinner. I ordered the blacken red drum, fried with fries and cole slaw. It was absolutely delicious and I ordered sweet tea to drink. It was not too sweet, not too strong, perfection! My wife had the pot roast. We were both delighted with the service the taste of the food and the care in preparing it.

The ONLY complaint I have with Rose Hill Restaurant is the serving sizes! I understand that a lot of elderly patrons frequent this establishment but there are more than a few “Growing Young Men”, such as myself, that happen to drop by regularly, also. Every time I eat here I ALWAYS order the same meal twice. Like, I’ll eat the pot roast meal and then order the same thing all over again, before I order dessert. Our waitress, we call her Michelle, is ALWAYS a delight to have serve my wife and I!! Not that any of the other waitresses are horrible!! We just like to cut up and have a good laugh with her when we see her! But, over all, Rose Hill Restaurant is a great establishment to eat at! The service is great, the environment is great, And the food is absolutely delicious !! Even if I do have to order double portions!! And even ordering double meals for myself, I still haven’t paid $50 for my wife and I to eat here!! Well worth the price!! I hope this helps anyone thinking of trying them out! If good country home cooking is what you’re after, I promise you won’t be disappointed!! Even if you have to order it twice to get full!!

I took my 84 yr old Mother to lunch yesterday. I have only been here once many years ago. She wanted Shrimp so when I saw the sign out front that said “Fresh Shrimp Fried or Grilled” we decided to check it out. The staff was great and the atmosphere good. However, upon receiving her fried shrimp plate and my grilled shrimp plate, we were disappointed to see that they were NOT fresh shrimp but little tiny, sure to be frozen salad shrimp, hers fried and mine grilled. She did not care for the potato salad either, it was bland. My only advice would be when you see the sign that says “Fresh Shrimp” please ask what you are getting.

Rose Hill’s classic charm echoes in this restaurant. The staff is warm and kind and extremely polite. The food is hot and freshly prepared. Their lemon blueberry pie is the absolute best dessert hands down.

You know the fried chicken’s going to be great when you have to wait 25 minutes for it to fry! The wait is worth it! It’s like waiting for Grandma to fry your chicken! And deeelicious…mmmm!! Can’t wait to go back! Rose Hill is a perfect in-between stop from the Raleigh area and the beaches.

We love country food and country restaurants. I got the fried chicken with collards and string beans (as opposed to green beans). The chicken was almost as good as my wife’s. The veggies were the best I’ve ever had.
My wife got their signature dessert — lemon-blueberry pie. She loved it. The tiny piece she let me try was delicious.
The hour-plus drive was well worth it. We will go back, again and again.

I’ve never had a bad meal here and the staff is always so friendly. The
menu is pretty large but I’ve had a variety of items (fish is awesome, meatloaf is great) and all were very good, hushpuppies are the best. If you’re too full for dessert, take a piece of lemon blueberry pie for later, you won’t be sorry!

This is one of the, if not the, best restaurant experiences my family and I have ever had. Everything was delicious, even the 4 kids were happy! Our waitress was super friendly and the owner/chef “Fuzzy” came out and was just as friendly!! If you go in season, you have to get the lemon blueberry pie!!!!! What an amazing random roadside stop on the way to the beach!!!
