Warning: Not safe for celiac. I truly believe the owners here are kind people and have good intentions. They are clearly very talented bakers with great items for sale. These treats are truly delicious! I think they are suitable for someone who is gluten free as a personal choice etc, but not for celiac/gluten allergy. I suspect there is some cross contamination in the flour at production level at the supplier that the owner here is likely not aware of, and I’m sure she does her best to source what’s available / marketed as gluten free (although maybe not certified.) and claims a gf facility/ no cc in the bakery. Maybe the ingredients from the flour blend are produced on the same equipment as wheat in the factory, and then the bakery here really thinks their ingredients are gluten free, but unfortunately they definitely contain more than 20ppm (the threshold to be certified gluten free) because I was very sick after eating the baked goods, although they were lovely and delicious. They are great for someone who is not sensitive, but at this time they are not safe for celiac / gluten allergy. I kindly recommend to the owners if you want to be celiac safe to check that the flour blend going forward is ‘certified’ gluten free which indicates it has been tested by a 3rd party to be below a certain level. Again, it’s great that someone even has a GF bakery in this area, and I’m thankful for that! Let’s be clear to customers that this isn’t safe for celiacs at this time until this issue is pinpointed. Plus as I said before, the treats are great quality just at the end of the day they are not truly gluten free at a cross contact level because it was all I ate and I was sick. I wish these owners well and hope success for their business. I want celiacs who may become very ill if they consume gluten to be aware of this potential CC issue here, as there are very serious consequences for us. Thank you

If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. Sweetheart Treats is hands-down one of the BEST bakeries I’ve ever been to — and I’ve tried a lot. What makes this place truly special is not just the fact that everything is gluten-free, sugar-free, and dairy-free (yes, really!), but that somehow, every single baked good tastes better than anything I’ve ever had — gluten-free or not. Their pretzels are like Auntie Anne’s on another level. Every cookie, donut, cinnamon roll, and brownie is straight-up unreal. I keep coming back to keep trying more and more. And while checking out, ii always last minute ask for one more thing added in.
But what keeps me coming back weekly isn’t just the food — it’s the incredible owner. She is kind, generous, and truly goes above and beyond for her customers. She sets aside our favorite treats when she knows we’re coming, and even stayed open late once when I was running behind, just so we wouldn’t miss our weekly goodies
Sweetheart Treats is everything a small, locally owned business should be, with a heart of gold at the center. Supporting businesses like this is exactly why community matters. I am endlessly grateful for this gem of a shop and can’t recommend it enough. If you haven’t been yet, you’re missing out big time.

Sweetheart treats is now and has been for a few years our designated bakery. They are inclusive of allergy needs such as gluten free and sugar free cakes! And much more I’m sure! From just a trip to the bakery to our wedding cake Mary delivered! Voted #1 in Raleigh’s Best bakery and cupcakes! Highly recommended! 10/10

I ordered a cake last minute for my daughter’s 3rd birthday. Mary was an absolute angel to make her cake in such short notice. It was beautiful and so, so delicious! It was the highlight of her birthday…so much so that she ate 2 pieces! Mary made me and my daughter feel so special on her birthday. I can’t wait to continue to support Mary and her bakery!

It is very tasty cup cakes we bought there. The bakery is completely gluten free, which is fantastic for people with gluten allergies. The treats are somewhat expensive, but then again gluten free cake has expensive ingredients.

Such an amazing gluten free bakery! They have a great variety of flavors and treats. Cupcakes, donuts, cinnamon rolls to sourdough bread. This bakery has it all! Everything is always delicious and super fresh.

Give them your business! I tried ordering this cake from a few other places I was recommend, and they all said I needed to order two plus weeks in advance and that they can only do 40+ serving size custom cakes. I just needed a small cake in the shape of a baked potato!
I had already tried Sweetheart Treats amazing cupcakes and other treats, so I knew they would give me a flavorful and moist cake, but I didn’t know what a thoughtful, incredible job they would do!
I ordered a custom cake less than a week before it was needed, and they emailed me back immediately with pricing and options, saying that my idea made them laugh and they could do it.
This baked potato cake was such a joy to order and receive! The baker told me that she also loves baked potatoes as much as my brother, and she was so excited to work on this cake. I showed her some basic pictures and she DELIVERED. This cake is STUNNING and I show it to everyone with pride.
Look no further for a great tasting cake made with love – this is by far the best cake I have ever ordered, and I’m not sure it can ever be topped. (Yes, that’s real aluminum foil she put on the bottom! The details are just…chef’s kiss)

I was worried when my husband said he could handle getting my birthday cake. See, honesty I’m a bit of a pie person… but my regular key lime pie is out for now because we’ve just started dairy free life for our three-year-old who is severely lactose intolerant. Normally I would bake my own, but with a move underway and a new puppy that wasn’t going to happen this year. So imagine my relief when my husband brings home this gorgeous hunk of strawberry heaven! It was perfection! I’m so glad he found Sweetheart Treats. He said they were the only bakery he found that would do a lactose free cake with less than two weeks notice. I am so grateful they did!

Finding Sweetheart Treats was like finding a treasure! I needed a sugar free birthday cake for my 90 year old aunt, and Mary delivered a fabulous and beautiful cake! My aunt was thrilled. The whole family raved about the cake. To say it was a hit, is an understatement.
