This was my first time at Panera Bread, and from the moment I walked in, I was impressed by how clean and elegant the place looked. Unlike many places and cafés in Salem where the décor feels outdated and the ceilings are full of exposed wires and messy lines that make the atmosphere uncomfortable, this place truly deserves to be called a restaurant.
Mary, the employee who helped me, was absolutely wonderful. There are no words to fully describe her kindness and professionalism. My English is still limited, and since it has only been about a year and a half since I arrived in the United States, I am still learning how things work here. It was my first time there, and I wasn’t sure what to do. Mary kindly walked me to the order pickup area, explained clearly how to place my order, and showed me exactly where to pick it up. She treated me with patience, respect, and a warm smile. She truly deserves recognition for her outstanding customer service.
The food was very delicious. I ordered the Cream of Chicken & Wild Rice Soup in a bowl size. I was a little surprised by the portion size because it was smaller than I expected. However, the price was very affordable compared to other places I’ve visited, so the portion makes sense for the cost.

Overall, it was a very positive experience, and I would definitely come back again.

Huge thank you to Carrie at Panera on Lancaster in Salem. After a very hard few weeks for my family, her kindness and patience tonight truly made my day.

We never know what others are going through, and Carrie showed real compassion. Panera is lucky to have her. Order #1303704.

The last 2 times I’ve gotten the broccoli soup it has been watery and soapy tasting.
Also this “half” salad is $10 on door dash! That’s insane. And $8.29 in store. This is absolutely ridiculous old onions and ROTTEN cucumbers. How do you not see this before sending it out?

This was our worst Panera experience. To start with no one to take our order at noon on a Sunday so we had to use the kiosk. We both ordered soups and they were both so watered down. My husband said he could drink his from a coffee cup. Thankful they did add a few noodles to his home style chicken noodle soup he said. My soup was the broccoli cheese and had very little taste and was so watered down. When we went to dump our trays 3 other bowls of broccoli cheese soup sat on the dump station where other guest had discarded the soup. My hot sandwich wasn’t very warm. Out of chips until Tuesday. That seemed odd to me as well. Our meal cost more than an Olive Garden dinner!

I decided stop in for a pastry and coffee to wait for a friend and was so underwhelmed by the food and service at this location. They didn’t have decaf options for espresso drinks, and only almond milk as an alternative to regular, and when I asked the server if I could get my cinnamon roll warmed up she said the new district manager won’t let them heat up pastries any more. Weird.

Fly in the bread bowl, hair on the sandwich, hair in the mac and cheese….

We were starving after a long day at Silver Falls and just wanted a hot meal. We ordered the most simple items on the menu: a cookie, a broccoli cheddar bread bowl with a BLT, a french onion bread bowl with a sandwich and a mac and cheese.

The top of the bread bowl for the broccoli cheddar had a FLY baked into the crust. I thought at first it was a seed, and thats when I noticed it was a wing, antennae and legs. My husband had the remake it. My son then pulled a hair out of his mac and cheese and refused to touch anything else so we didnt have them remake it. I tried sipping water to calm my atomach enough to try the sandwhich I got just sitting there and low and behold, a hair on the sliced cheese as I pick it up and examine it.

There were several people working with no hair nets, no beard covers and long hair. The fact they didnt catch a fly on the dough before going into the oven is wild and even more so that they serve food without checking it.

My husband had the manager refund our meals which she did and she apologized for the inconvenience, but this experience will be enough for me to never return.

10/10 I’ve came here every morning for almost 2 months and I usually order online and pick up through the drive thru. The girl Caitlin is always there with a smile and it just starts your day off right!

I been trying food here for more than 6 months and i have complained about the microphone issue on the drive thru multiple times, havent fixed it yet. I have to speak very loud for them to understand to take the order which hurts my throat very bad. And the wait time for drive thru is another story. I am not coming here again.

Beautiful new location in a fast improving Willamette Town Center mall. The Sip Club is a pretty good deal. Prices can be a bit high for some of the entrees but they taste pretty good. My favorite area some.of the pastries like the pecan twist. The patio with the fireplace is a nice place to enjoy a meal on a nicer day.

One star cause I can give them zero. Found a hair in there chicken Avo sandwich. And order a cheese broccoli soup which is just little thicker than water. So thanks Panera bread to ruin my lunch.
