I had an amazing time here. The food was amazing and the drinks were great. We came here for an anniversary dinner and were very pleased with the food and intimate setting. I would definitely recommend for a special night out.

Excellent food and service. Came here to celebrate Valentine’s Day and enjoyed every bite. Chef Chris and his team prepared a delicious 4 course meal that made me think of the wonderful food at my wedding which was here.

Castle hotel, spa, fine dining, easy drive uphill, beautiful scenic views, respectful valet park attendants, champagne welcome distracts one from long wait to be seated despite adequate reservation,
nothing from ordinary Thanksgiving dinner, basic $200/pp without spirits,
scrupulous table setting where soup spoon is same as tablespoon,
disorganized hosting, waiters bumping on one another, seemingly unsure of performance, water glasses refilled untimely, guests to signal for needs,
cannot differentiate between insensitive and lack of staff training, utensils dropping, carpets help! comedy in a castle surprise elegant guests.

The host, wait staff & bartender were extremely well trained. They were always present, picked up your plate, asked if you need anything, filled your water – but never obtrusive. The food quality is hands down the best. The Sunday buffet price is a steal for such a gastronomic delight. Don’t miss it!

Very disappointed with my last visit. I have been coming here for years and have watched the restaurant slowly decline. Last visit sat at the bar. Big mistake! We were ignored, ordered sparkling water and got tonic water. Then had to wait while another staff member got us a hot bottle of flat bottled water. The food portions were smaller and the risotto quality has gone down! Last two visits makes me wonder why I even ordered it? The mushrooms were not chopped and the food didn’t seem fresh. We ordered coffees and waited over 30 minutes. The bartender who really ignored us the whole time, said to wait some more and after 40 minutes, we gave up. He told us “he wouldn’t charge us for the coffees”. Ah, well we didn’t get them and were not about to wait any longer. So sad to see such a wonderful gem of a restaurant with spectacular views have such poor food and service! Even when we left, there were plates and cups left around the library room!

I was looking forward to this dining experience considering where it is located. The castle spa and hotel looked beautiful and to experience a lovely meal in this surrounding should have been wonderful. Unfortunately it was not Came here for lunch and we were seated in the white patio room overlooking the Hudson. The view was very nice which is why I gave two stars. As we were seated I noticed the chairs were stained and the wood on the edge of the chairs looked cracked and chipped. I thought maybe it was just our chairs but as I looked around at the other tables the chairs all had some sort of stains from drinks or food that was spilled and not cleaned. It was shocking that a hotel of this calibar would not try to put covers on the chairs or replace them. We ordered the cheese platter, the mushroom risotto and the scallops. The cheese was fine but the risotto was simple and just average and the scallops were not seared and under cooked. The portions were small considering the price we paid. The service was slow and inattentive. Very disappointed with the entire meal. The hotel needs to pay attention to the small details like the chairs as well as perfecting a simple meal to a higher standard. Very disappointing.
