I really love the artwork around the restaurant and the tv played anime on it
Giving you the vibes like you’re in another place like Japan.
The owner was friendly. The place is still new and setting up. I did recommend to have the menu like behind the counter overhead just so you know what toppings are available. The TV with the monitor of the menu is on the side when you walk in, but there’s not one at the counter yet. There also some can drink.
I ended up getting spicy ramen with chicken, mozzarella, marinated egg, and fish cake. It came out to be about $16. The noodles were perfectly cooked and the meat was tender.
Bianca, the owner, just opened this veteran Black woman owned ramen shop after about a year and a half of real trials and tribulations, and you can truly feel how personal this place is. The concept is inspired by her time traveling abroad while serving in the Army, pulling from the make your own ramen shops she loved overseas and bringing that idea straight to Midtown. You can also tell how proud Bianca and her family are of this place. That pride shows up in the details, the energy, and the way everyone was moving on opening day. It felt like a celebration of something hard earned, not just another restaurant opening.
We stopped in on day one and it was poppin. A DJ was spinning, there was an outside vendor, and the place was packed with people showing love. While that kind of setup is not an everyday thing, it felt like the perfect way to mark such a meaningful opening and set the tone for what this spot could become.
The menu gives you a lot of freedom. There is a large selection of ramen options ranging from spicy to mild and veggie to beef. I went with a spicy chicken base and absolutely loaded it up with marinated rice cakes, bok choy, broccoli, carrot, grilled onion, marinated egg, pulled chicken, gochujang, lime, a little Korean BBQ sauce, and an ice cold orange Fanta to go with it. My partner built their own spicy chicken bowl with a ton of toppings as well. I completely slammed mine. It was that good.
The inside vibe is just as fun as the food. Large spray paint style art of Goku, Vegeta, Sailor Moon, and Naruto all eating ramen lines the walls, along with an artist homage to Bianca herself. The food counter area is decked out with Pokémon like Charizard and Pikachu, and we were casually watching classic Pokémon on the TV while eating. It all comes together in a way that feels playful and intentional.
I am already excited to go back, enjoy another bowl of ramen, try different topping combinations, and catch a show while I eat. With the anime, Pokémon, and gaming energy, there is a ton of potential here for video game tournaments and other community events. Moonlight Miso feels like it is just getting started, and it is absolutely worth checking out.
When it comes to customer service, Charles truly stood out. He greeted us right away, was very helpful, and went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. He was accommodating, attentive, and made the entire experience even better.
We will definitely be back!
