I ordered plain naan and butter chicken (medium spice).
Plain naan. As you can tell from the photo the naan is generously portioned. It stayed nice and hot until I got home and was fresh despite me ordering my food close to closing time. (sidenote: I cut the naan into narrow strips since it’s just easier/less messy for me to eat it like that).
Butter chicken. I got the medium spice level, although I believe there were four (!) higher spice levels above that. The sauce was thick and flavorful and the chicken used was fresh and well cooked. I’ll also mention rice is included with the curry dishes, which is NICE since it seems more and more places charge you extra for rice despite it being the perfect accompaniment to curry.
All in all, it was a good experience and I’ll be back to explore the rest of their menu.
The interaction felt odd and pretty cold. I was really excited to try this place, but after that experience, I probably wouldn’t come back if it reopens, which is disappointing.
I’ll rate it on it four different axis:
Location: Very good. It’s close to my house so a convenient pickup. Also there is wells fargo parking on the back, which you’re not supposed to use for it but its convenient.
Food quality: Very bad. The Worst Dahi bhalla and veg biryani I ever had. Literally water was separating out of the mix. And flavorless – that’s the worse part.
Price: bad. For a place that offer no seating (cloud kitchen), it is much pricier than regular Indian restaurants, esp. for the quality of food.
Pickup experience: Poor. I opted for curbside pickup from their website when ordering, but they refused when I arrived. Also the tone was unprofessional though I usually don’t mind that.
That’s 2 out of 5 stars for me. Overall, you can occasionally order if you live nearby and don’t mind some mediocre food.
If the food was good, I’d have been inclined to rate them maybe 4, but unfortunately they have a lot to improve.
I would highly recommend this place and I am glad we have a good Indian cloud kitchen in our neighborhood. Let’s support this small business and hope they keep up the quality.
