We are a craft distillery dedicated to making a wide range of high-quality hand-crafted spirits. We distill all our spirits on the first floor in a grain to glass process using high locally sourced grains and the freshest fruits. We produce whiskeys (bourbon, rye and single malt), vodkas, gins, liqueurs and specialty spirits from around the world. All products are available for sale only at our location. Upstairs we run a bar and restaurant serving gourmet sandwiches, dips, charcuteries, and desserts. Our craft cocktails use only spirits produced in our distillery. We have outdoor seating on two beautiful decks with the best views of Old Ellicott City, and we are dog friendly. We offer sit-down meals and drinks, cocktails to go, samplings

First time at Ellicott Distilling in Historic Ellicott City and it was AMAZING. It’s a super quaint spot and the owner ran our class—he’s knowledgeable, personable, and made the whole thing really fun. We got to make our own flavored drink (your choice of alcohol), did tastings along the way, and even played trivia. Brunch was served; tacos + mimosas + punch, cookies, and the drinks were unlimited. Such a good time. We’ll 100% be back.

Wr did not come for the class, which looks intriguing, just had some of the cocktails.
Everyone enjoyed the drinks. I had the spiked hot chocolate with brandy which was perfect for a overcast winters day.
A friend enjoyed his romulan ale, if you are into uniquely named drinks.
We agreed we’d like to try the class but were more than satisfied with the cocktails.

My husband and I had such a wonderful experience at Ellicott Distilling’s whiskey-making class! We attended on a Sunday morning (10–12:30) and from start to finish it was both educational and fun. The owner went above and beyond to make it engaging — even providing tacos so we had food while making our spirits!
We learned a lot about the process and got to create our own unique whiskey recipes, bottle them up, and even fly them home with us. That made it such a special and memorable gift.
The class was very interactive — from choosing personalized ingredients to a fun quiz at the end with prizes. The quiz had creative questions, puns, and plenty of laughs, which kept everyone engaged and entertained.
Highly recommend this experience if you want something unique, hands-on, and memorable. Perfect balance of learning, fun, and creativity.

This… this bar is hidden gem. There’s no other word for it, everything was just perfect. From the drinks to the building and especially their outdoor seating area.
It felt like a home away from home and I want to give special thanks to Erika for creating a perfect evening for me and my husband. The conversation we had was pleasant and we will definitely remember to come back when we are in old Ellicott City again!

We had a group of 4 for the distilling class. We all had a lot of fun. The vibes were great, the taco bar was delicious, and the drinks were reallllly good.
If we could suggest some small changes that would make the class a 5 star experience: reduce class size a bit because it was difficult for a lot of us to actually sit in our seats or we’d be too on top of each other. Providing some bottled water and cans of soda would be helpful as we’re sampling different liquors and could use a chaser and/or hydration during the event. The last suggestion would be using a thicker sticker paper for the labels we designed – you can see through them and it doesn’t fully cover the design that’s already on the bottle.

We did a distilling class for a friend’s bachelorette party and it was a blast! We learned a lot, had many fun drinks, and took home our own alcohol! It was such a good price for the experience too, and they made it super easy to book. It was so fun making our own labels too! I will definitely come back when I’m in Ellicott City next

If you’re looking for the perfect activity to do solo, with friends, or as an interactive date night, then you must try the distill your own liquor class at Ellicott Distilling.
I’ve been to Ellicott Distilling twice. Once as a solo date night for myself and recently as a small group with my family. And both times I had an absolute blast. If making your own liquor doesn’t draw you in then the taco bar, welcome drink, endless samples of liquor, and an all-around great time will do it. Arkadi, the owner is an amazing host and keeps the class lively.
You kick off the class putting some food from the taco bar on your stomach, which you will definitely need, and make your first cocktail of the day. From there you get going with the distilling process, which is a pretty neat process to learn about. You don’t realize how much science goes into making the spirits we all love to consume. And I love the little old timey distilling machines each person uses to make their liquor of choice. Once the liquor starts dripping you head downstairs for a little tour and barrel sampling. And then back upstairs to finish off your custom flavored bottled and some trivia. The trivia is a win, win because even with wrong answers you still win with samples of various flavored liquors.
My family and I were the only ones attending for the day, so it was a very intimate class that we all thoroughly enjoyed. This class is a must try for anyone that loves a good bottle of bourbon/gin/vodka, and you can even say that you made it yourself.

The staff were nice enough but the whiskey was pretty awful. My girlfriend and I got the flight and the rye and bourbon were passable but the single malt was disgusting and undrinkable. The vibes here are odd too. They are playing early 2000s club music too loud and the decor is pretty bland. It feels like this place has a lot of potential that is wasted on an incomplete vision.
