Mr. Officer
I am from NY, the home of a good deli sandwich. It has been very difficult to find a good sandwich living in the South. I use to patronize Jersey Mike’s when it was previously located in Trussville next to the ABC store. When I purchase a sandwich I am always critical of everything from the bread, freshness of the veggies, amount of condiment applied and quality and amount of meat. I have always struggled with the amount of meat that Mike’s puts on their sandwiches. I ALWAYS choose the add extra meat option and have NO PROBLEM paying for it. My biggest complaint has been consistency when it comes to my experience at Mike’s. The place is always clean, the staff is usually friendly, even though it is a challenge to get some of the younger employees to utter a word other than “Next!” But that is common with most fast food places these days Mike’s meats, bread and veggies are usually fresh. Last night I ordered my usual which is a #7( Turkey & Provolone) As I stated, amount of meat and consistency are the problems. I ordered double meat on a Giant #7 and paid $30 for a sandwich only. Most times I am charged $25.43 for the same sandwich. Which I have no problem with. EVERYTHING is more expensive in this day & age. The first picture is from last night and the second is from a previous time. See the difference…! Hard not too.
A thirty dollar sandwich the first one is, NOT…! The regular price of a #7 Giant is $15. 47,I think. Not sure on the change amount. I have spoken to management numerous times and I hit the tip jar EVERYTIME I am served, usually $2. I am always polite when I request ANYTHING, but some of them just don’t get it.
Publix makes a killer sandwich and has better quality ingredients using only Boar’s Head Products but sometimes I just want that Jersy Mike’s Way.

Moving forward a few months since I posted my review Jersey Mike’s still struggles to be consistent and provide a pleasurable dining experience. Most of the staff are very accommodating and a pleasure to deal with. There is one assistant manager that is very difficult to deal with and and just does not make a sandwich worth the money. There have been several times when I see her in the store I just go somewhere else rather than deal with her and her inability to make a decent sandwich despite charging for every extra she can add on. This latest picture is the last sandwich she made with extra meat. She cuts the meat and cheese so thin you can literally see through it. When I politely ask she explained that she has to keep from blowing her meat cost. ‍ I paid close to $30 for this giant sandwich and this is what I received despite being as polite as I could and tipping $3.
I have spoken with several customers in line who have also complained about her attitude.
Mr. or Ms. Owner you really need to do something to correct this situation. You are loosing business due to this cancer within. I am sure you know exactly who I am referring to…

I know it’s tough these days and people are stressed but it still dosen’t hurt to greet your customers as they come in and not look at them as they are a bother. Not only was this done to me but serveral customers that came in today. Not one thank you come again.. nothing! This is my first time at this location being that’s its by my house but I don’t think I will be back. The sub was ok but not well put together and after the service I will pass. My first time visiting I think the location near Hoover it was very pleasant. The service was great, we were greeted and food was good. They walked us through the order process being we were first timers. That was the experience I was expecting.. at least a smile, hello or something. But not one staff member greeted any customer from manager to staff. And please tell your workers when they come in to wash hands not just put on gloves and start making sandwiches please. I saw two do this while I was there today. It doesn’t take much to be kind, courteous and clean.

Arrived an hour before close to be told that they are out of bread…..very dissatisfied. Employees thought it was funny that they could now turn people away instead of feeding them. The laziness and lack of care from this location really needs to be looked into.

I tried to call an order in, but he said they were too busy, id have to come in or do an online order. He rushed me off the phone so I thought they had a packed house. I’m literally 10 min away so I decided to do the online order. Dealing with a pregnant woman, you know time is of the essence. I get there and I think there were 4 customers in the store, 2 of which were sitting down eating already. They hadn’t even started on my order. I still had to wait another 20 min. It takes a certain type to work in customer service and if it’s not for you then find another job.

Bought 3 giant subs, two of which were the Big Kahuna’s with steak minus mushrooms that meant to keep all the other ingredients. The jalapeños were missing. Maybe the employees need a refresher course on the menu. I see why I rarely frequent this establishment.

Don’t bother ordering online. There’s almost zero chance they’ll get your order correct.

They lady’s on shift today were so friendly. Service and food was beyond my expectations for a sub shop. Most of the time food service workers seem to hate there jobs but here it shows they truly love what they do!! Will recommend to friends and family.

I am from Jersey, so I am partial to their Italian hero sandwiches. With that said, I have not always been pleased with the portion sizes nor the way the sandwiches were made here despite me trying to guide the employee on my preference. My visit on this occasion was SPOT ON! The customer service as soon as entered was friendly and welcoming and it was busy, but they still took the time to acknowledge us coming in. The person making my sandwich listened and made the sandwich the way I wanted it and didn’t just follow the standard. The portion of toppings was plentiful too. Perhaps a newer crew at this location. Either way, was pleasantly surprised and will be back!
