The restaurant looks very appealing and nice ambiance. There was only 1 total waitress who was also the bartender and there were several tables needing drinks and to order food. After we sat for many minutes she approached us to say good would take at least 45 min after we even got to order. Heard the food was good but definitely need to staff up to meet the patron expectations for reasonable service times. Maybe we’ll try it again in the future…

My husband took his coworkers (and wives) out for dinner here and we can’t say enough great things about the place! The all you can eat fish was fantastic and salad bar had lots of options! I ordered their pizza and it too was delicious made from scratch! The wait staff was on top of it especially with us being a larger group! Definitely would recommend this place to anyone looking for great food, relaxing atmosphere and great wait staff!

Ordered a prime rib sandwich and an order of macho nachos. Took forever for our food and when we got there we were only like the 3rd table there. Drinks were ok but VERY expensive. We were from out of town and this place was next to our motel. I think I would rather starve then go there again. No wonder why the parking lot was pretty much empty. I look for this place to close their doors soon.
A reply to your reply……We NEVER said anything about the service so you better learn how to read!! And I looked at the time when the food was put on our table and it was after 8:00 so it must have been sitting in the kitchen.

Upon entering the restaurant we had high hopes due to the cleanliness and rustic theme. we thought we lucked out and beat 5:30 saturday night dinner rush, but we quickly realized why the parking lot was barren. first, we were told they were out of veggies and nacho cheese which is to no fault of their own just bad luck on our part. however, the drinks had an odd taste almost like dust or chemical. 3/4 of the meals were either overcooked or had an unpleasant taste. The service was decent and we received our food quickly. reading other reviews it seems that the owner is more interested in denying other bad review and calling them lies rather than improving the food.

We’ve been here before and had a good experience so I’m giving a 3 even though today was much less. We waited over 45 minutes for our food even though there were only a couple other tables of people. I got the smoked brisket sandwich, which was good, and a side of their homestyle fries which were inedible. They were limp and greasy like they were thrown in the fryer but not left in to finish cooking. Not sure if I’ll give them another try.

Stayed in the hotel and came over for a quick bite. Only had one waitress. All of a sudden the restaurant was busy. Our waitress made a quick call and had help fast. Ordered a tenderloin sandwich which was fantastic. The cook was very quick for the rush he was put in. I recommend it, but don’t be impatient. Enjoy the environment and the moment.

First, the restaurant is located in Manchester, IA. Second, bang for the buck, you’ll be hard pressed to beat it in the area (40-50 miles in any direction). Fireside Pub & Steakhouse offers good quality food at a fair price. It’s as close as you’ll get to a big town experience in a small town. Service was good, restaurant was clean and the bathrooms we’re clean. Have been here many times with the family and we love it. Give it a try.

I will say the food was delicious. Had top sirloin, grilled shrimp, load baked potato. Along with Philly steak sandwich and seasoned fries. Lava cake with vanilla bean ice cream. Why I didn’t give it 5 stars, 1st the steak special was 16.95 was charged 18.95. The steak was very salty, so must not be high quality beef. The desert was to come with vanilla bean ice cream, the ice cream was regular vanilla. Was still worth the time.

The food was amazing!! I had smoked wings & they were perfect. Combine that with the sparkling personality of the bartender it was an amazing experience! Great way to break up my commute!! I will for sure be back!
