Amazing!! We’ll be back!! I booked this for my grans birthday, we had children with us and a palet of all tastes around the table. Just wanted to say, even though gran didnt order a dessert like we had been hoping she would, the team still orchastrated a happy birthday surprise with me and made her feel like a big child again. She fair enjoyed her night and was able to chat to us and be able to hear us (bad hearing) as the atmosphere was so relaxed. Thank-you, thank-you!! First class!!

Out for a walk through Musselburgh Friday past then started to think where to go for lunch, we had heard about East Coast so we thought we’d give it a try.

We got there around 2pm ish and were politely met by a member of staff who directed us to out table. The restaurant was reasonably busy but not overly so. We were given a menu and asked if we would like a refreshment we ordered two cokes then two traditional battered fish and chips . Both dishes arrived hot and well presented probably the best textured batter I’ve had and a lovely bit of fresh haddock .

Staff were very welcoming, helpful, polite and attentive. We will be back.

Very happy with our experience, all three of us ordered different things and were very pleased with both the food and the service. The pasta was freshly made, the battered seafood was delicious, even the chips were particularly good. We’ll be coming back!

We genuinely had a hard time deciding what to order because everything sounded so good. We settled on the fish of the day (cod), lobster, oysters and minestrone soup, everything was very flavorful and the staff was so nice.

My wife and I went out for a rare date night here the other month. This place has been on my list of places to go for such a long time, after many recommendations. It certainly didn’t disappoint. The restaurant was clean and modern. The staff were friendly, helpful and attentive but also weren’t felt rushed.
The only downside was the price as it was expensive, but saying that it was very good quality. For starters I got the prawns and my wife for the calamari. Both were delicious and very well cooked. My only gripe that the prawns were quite a small portion but it’s probably a good thing as we shouldn’t be greedy. For mains, we had to get a fish and chips each. There were other appealing things in the menu but I wanted to see if their fish and chips lived up to the hype. It was lovely! The fish had a crispy outer with a soft and delicate centre and tasted great. The chips were very good too. The portions were large and not many people around could finish theirs. I also wanted to try the garlic roast potatoes. These were okay but would’ve preferred them if they were crisper. They did have a nice garlic flavour. We didn’t have a dessert because we were so full!
Overall a very enjoyable evening meal and I’d love to come back!

Very nice restaurant.
Went for the reviews and wasn’t disappointed. We had lunch during the week and got to enjoy the lunch menu (2 courses for £23!)
Don’t be tricked by the “wee fish dinner” (see photo) it was big enough!! Had mussels as a starters and once again much bigger than assumed and delicious!

Definitely recommend

Has a good reputation so I tried it out and found it excellent. Chatting to an elderly lady customer who always comes here and raved about the fresh fish and light crispy batter. She was spot on. Both the cod and the haddock were delicious. The batter was a delight – I don’t know the trick to getting it so crispy and light but it really is top class. The staff were friendly and cheerful. The service was quick, given that the fish was fried fresh. All in all a five star fish and chips takeaway.

Good portion and the fish was not greasy and tasty. The sausage was also good. A bit pricy but definitely a good fish and chip shop to get something at.

Opened the door 4 minutes early because they saws us standing outside. Happy smiling faces. Freshly cooked and SAFE gluten free battered sausage which was very tasty. This is honestly my favourite chippy and worth the 1 hour drive to get to it!

Wow. This might rank in our top 5 restaurants ever! We came here after hiking much of the day and brought our appetites.

Everything on the menu we ordered was the “best of” that particular item we’d had… maybe ever! The scallops thermidor and mushroom soup from the seasonal menu were outstanding. The fish and chips were spectacular – not greasy, not overly breaded, nicely salted. Service was so friendly, and they played perfectly nostalgic music (Bing Crosby, Sinatra, etc.). We finished with a sticky toffee pudding, and will definitely be back.
