Derrick and his staff at Krack Kitchen are absolutely amazing! Not one single time that my husband and I have visited has Derrick not been right there alongside his team, personally preparing food for his customers. That kind of dedication truly stands out.

He always greets his customers, builds genuine relationships, and is very observant and aware of our custom orders. It means a lot when a business owner remembers what you like and makes you feel valued.

The food is reasonably priced, packed with flavor, and absolutely delicious every single time. You can taste the care and consistency in every bite.

If you haven’t tried this place yet, you are definitely missing out! Trust me! you won’t be disappointed!

You order at the counter and pay on the gas station side. The staff on both sides were very friendly. It’s in a gas station but it is very quiet. Of course it was busy so we did have to wait but the food is made fresh. I had the grilled cheese and hubby had the krack dog and we shared some krack fries. Very very good. We will be back and order something else off the menu.

When have you ever seen a 4.5 rating for a place to eat INSIDE of a gas station? Well, let this be your first!
We were looking for a place to eat fried fish yesterday for my father-in-law & saw this place on a Google search that had excellent reviews. The good experience begins with meeting David, the owner & chef, at the counter. He is friendly, helpful & loves to talk about Louisiana cooking. He is excited about it. You can’t beat food from someone who cooks that is passionate about what they serve. When he told me about his generational history of family chefs cooking for famous places in New Orleans I knew this had to be good.
The menu is not extensive as yet but more dishes are added seasonally and still more will be in time. He just came out of a food truck & is still growing.
I ordered Mardi Gras Pasta which was comprised of a lot of shrimp, juicy chicken, & a Louisiana brand sausage on top of pasta covered with a rich creamy sauce with lots of seasoning & flavor. Enough for 2.
My wife got the Fried Fish & Grits. I’ll get back to the fish in a minute. Let’s talk grits. I’m known for making my Mama’s recipe & am asked to make it by everyone who has had breakfast at our house. I love her grits, the taste & memories it brings. It’s a Southern thing. David’s grits, however, were so much better than mine. They’re good enough to stand on their own as an entree. There are flavors in it that I can’t identify but would love to duplicate. Amid the sea-sized portion of grits was a large filet of Fried Fish described below. The plate was big enough to share & my wife reluctantly did.
Our final dish was Fried Fish which was an option of the menu item that could have included shrimp. The filets were a generous portion of large, juicy, tender, delicately battered & fried fish that rivaled any place I’ve ever had it. Of course it was seasoned like you grew up with, that is if you grew up in Louisiana. Definitely big enough to share but only if you like the other people at your table and even then…maybe not.
Oh yeah, we got a side order of Gambino’s friend bread toasted with butter. What’s a “Gambino’s”? It’s a famous bakery in New Orleans with REAL French bread. David has it brought in. Such a fine detail!
This was the best meal I can remember having in a styrofoam box which meant taking home the leftovers (and there were plenty) was a snap. High points: Louisiana-style cooking, out-of-the-ordinary dishes, HUGE portions you can share, & meeting David the chef/owner. Low points: …I’ll have to get back to you if I can think of any.

Idk if the server didn’t really want to be there or what but my food was not good and my experience was ok. She seemed more interested in her phone than serving us. After buying $60+ in food we got mediocre results. The Madi Gras pasta wasn’t bad but the shrimp po boy & fried was a disappointment. I didn’t enjoy it one bit. My damn shrimp batter was leaning off the shrimp making it seem undercooked, rushed, and didn’t have any seasoning. The fries tasted like leftovers from the night before but definitely not fresh. Like I said I don’t know if she wanted to be there or not, she was more interested her phone but that definitely wasn’t a good experience for me and I will never come back.

I loved my food. The Lamb chops was seasoned well. My husband said his plate was small and didn’t look like the picture he saw on TikTok. We also got 2 order if wings.

Customer service is essential in shaping the overall dining experience. Unfortunately, the food did not quite meet expectations; the fish, fries, and shrimp were fried a touch too long, resulting in an overly crispy texture that overshadowed their natural flavors. Moreover, the seasoning was lacking, leaving the dishes feeling bland and uninspiring. On the other hand, the atmosphere of the restaurant emphasizes efficient, quick service, catering to those looking for a speedy meal rather than a leisurely dining experience.

I ordered the sweet and spicy salmon bites, and they were absolutely amazing — perfectly cooked, full of flavor, and just the right balance of sweet and heat. The salmon was tender and juicy, with a glaze that kept me going back for bite after bite. The presentation was beautiful too, even in a to-go box, and the portion size was generous.

The staff was friendly and welcoming, and you can tell they put a lot of care into their food and service. It’s rare to find a place that delivers on taste, quality, and value like this.

If you’re looking for something delicious and different in Houston, do yourself a favor and stop by Krack Kitchen. This place deserves way more recognition — it’s definitely a spot I’ll be coming back to again and again.
