One of my favorite Irish pubs in the entire St. Louis city region. I can distinctly remember visiting this place ever since my college days and I love returning because it has such a nostalgic feel and the vibe is always local neighborhood bar. Every server that has ever worked there has been fantastic and always takes care of all my needs and everyone is just genuinely friendly and thankful for me coming

Waitress recommended the House BLT. For my side I went with the fries. Food came out hot. The smoked aioli was a great option for the sandwich because of its taste. The bacon was not as thick as I thought it would be and the bacon needed to cook another minute so all pieces would be crunchy. Showed up around 7:15pm on Thursday and the place was packed. No parking lot but there’s plenty of street parking. Our server was swamped so service was a little slow at times.

We attended a comedy show last night and it was enjoyable. We arrived early enough to have dinner. The food was very good. Had an opportunity to meet the owner seems like a great guy. He was extremely friendly and easy to talk to. We will be back

Cool looking old bar right across from the zoo . We sat at the bar , and the bar itself was very nice .
I ordered the cod plate. The cod is beer battered, which isn’t my favorite. The batter was too thick, so the inside is still gummy . Not my favorite .
My wife ordered the fish tacos , they were good .

Cynthia is a great bartender, very kind and nice, she let us have one beer 5 minutes after last call. I’d reccomend Pat Connelly’s to anyone coming from out of town and likes dive bars. 10/10 experience no matter what day of the week it is.

I was with a large group that came to watch the Mizzou game on Saturday 10/25/25. The bartender changed the game to something he wanted to watch at the beginning of the 4th quarter while the game was tied. We also played a song on the TouchTunes that the same bartender immediately changed. I asked what happened and he said he does not like that song. I asked what music he likes and he said “not that”. I asked what about the credits I paid for to play that song. He grabbed his wallet and threw a $5 bill on the bar and walked away.
The level of disrespect and poor customer service is the reason my friends and I (all local to Dogtown) will not be returning.
I’d like to add that our waitress was very attentive and this review should not reflect on her. The bartender was extremely immature, disrespectful and unprofessional.

Had an amazing early dinner. The food was delicious and our server (bartender) was great. She was very friendly and attentive. We started with the toasted ravioli and then bith had the fish and chips. Everything was extremely delicious. The fish was the best I’ve had in St. Louis! Definitely worth going to.

2022: I’m upgrading Pat’s fried chicken to be one of the top 2 in STL. Awesome service and great pub food.
2019: Excellent local, old fashioned Irish pub. Top 5 places in St Louis to get great fried chicken. The BLT and Ruben sandwiches are awesome too.

Nice atmosphere if you are looking for friendly conversation, some sports on a few screens, and good food in the local tavern kind of way. They do have an upstairs space with bar and kitchen available for events. The downstairs tender was much more amiable than upstairs was though lol To each their own. Personally, I tried the popcorn shrimp which was a nice portion of not tiny shrimp (yum) with a romoulade that was a bit flat, but I like a little umph in it. I did notice the portions of other’s choices were all generous and nicely presented as well. The general vibe was relaxed and positive so I will try the Philly next time
