If you ever find yourself anywhere near Hooks, Texas, stop what you’re doing and head to Acadia Jeaux’s. I had the special of the day — Jalapeño Popper Meatloaf — and let me tell you, this was not your grandma’s Sunday loaf. It was pure, to-die-for gooey goodness stuffed inside a classic, tender meatloaf. Whoever dreamed this up deserves a culinary medal.
The wait staff was as warm and welcoming as the food, and when they found out I was staying in a hotel, they even hooked me up with extra dinner leftovers. That’s small-town hospitality at its finest.
And then there’s the owner — a friendly character with a great sense of humor who clearly loves what he does. You can feel it in the food, hear it in the laughter, and see it in the way everyone knows his name.
Bottom line: come for the food, stay for the people, leave with a happy belly and a smile on your face.

My husband and I are French, living in Alabama. We enjoyed the daily menu and the Mac and cheese, and we are absolutely foooond of the bread pudding. The best we’ve ever eaten!

I have to say that this was a great place to grab a bite to eat.
The service and food were really good.
I got the seafood gumbo, and it was delicious. As you can see from my bowl.
I highly recommend this place as a usual spot or a quick off the highway stop.
Either way you go, you won’t go wrong.

This restaurant was a 10/10.
Passing through town while on vacation googled catfish restaurants and this place was a hit. Our daughter said it was the best catfish shes ever ate and the mac n cheese was delicious. We tried fried catfish, fried / grilled shrimp and the grilled catfish plate. Everything was seasoned perfectly! We will definitely be back.

I’m giving 5 stars because the food was fantastic. Potions were big. Chicken pot pie was a great pick. My only issue is that my server preselected my tip amount and told me “I selected the tip. You can change it if you want to” while she stood there and watched me finish the transaction on the digital device. That’s pretty tacky. Overall, it was a great place.
