The food was cold. The server was very sweet, but probably let the food sit too long. It Was very busy. Overall, the food was ok except for the gumbo. It was very odd seeing bacon on it, but I’m from New Orleans and have had some great gumbo.
This was my second time visiting. The first time was superb .
It’s in a beautiful location.

This place gets super busy so better get there early. We started off with boudin balls, we could have gotten two servings of these, they were delicious. My wife got a cheeseburger with fries and I got the Rooster tacos, the only bad was some of the rice was super hard. The view and atmosphere is all worth it. Would definitely recommend this place, will be back next month on the boat, so park and enjoy.

I came here for my birthday and it was fun! I went on a dingo night and I’d highly recommend going to one of those. It’s bingo but with songs they play! I ordered the fried oysters only having raw oysters at other places before, and I wouldn’t recommend them because of the at the texture turns when the juices mix with the batter. Other than that, everything g was amazing!!! It was crowded but super fun!!

We love the Bluegill. It’s a funky marina restaurant with lots of vibe. Live band on Saturday nights in the summer. It can get loud and it’s “seat yourself” so come early. Food is typical bar fare. Hush puppies are really good. Beer is cold. Prices are reasonable. Views are stellar.

Beautiful setting on Tim Ford’s Lake, a floating restaurant. We go every year to this area and restaurant and are never disappointed. The food and service is great. The staff is friendly, attentive, and courteous. They are always busy so be patient but they take great care of you. Their seafood boil on Wednesdays is awesome. If you’re in the area I highly recommend a visit.

Rode up to Bluegill today. It did not disappoint. It has indoor and floating dock seating. The rooster tacos were great. The Dickle Pickle was also very good for the adults. The menu had a very large selection. I was expecting only burgers and few other options.

We came here last night for our anniversary dinner. We sat down at 7:20 and got our food at 9pm. Our waitress was so sweet and did try to keep us up to date on everything. She was very accommodating and so polite. However, we have two small kids and if our friends hadn’t have bought our meal we would have walked out. When we did finally get out food it was in to go boxes and we were still there to eat as we’re not even from the area. The vibe of the area was so cool and we really enjoyed the area but we won’t be back because of our experience with the wait. We honestly felt like we were the very last people of the night to receive our food.

TLDR: Food was great, service was fast and friendly, Prices could be lower, but were still reasonable. I would recommend. I would return if I lived in the area or pass this way again.
We weren’t expecting much, but we had been lost in the woods for the past 2 or 3 hours after a previous hiking trip that had included some climbing. We were hungry.
We were greeted right away and told that we could sit anywhere. There were maybe 4 tables indoors, but they were all available. Most people preferred to sit outdoors.
The waitress was beyond friendly as she made recommendations and offered samples of the frozen drinks. I got the seafood combo with Rooster rice (spicy) and fried okra as my sides. I asked for my fish to be grilled instead of fried. I also ordered a bowl of gumbo, and the Dickel Drop frozen drink. My brother had the fish tacos and gumbo. We were both blown away by the flavors. The rooster rice may have been my favorite food there, but the shrimp were seasoned well, and the fish was cooked to perfection! The fried okra was hot, lightly battered, not gooey, but not over cooked either. I didn’t have room for the gumbo, so I couldn’t tell you more except that it had shrimp, cut up pieces of another meat, sausage perhaps, and my brother was very impressed by it. We couldn’t stop laughing at the name of my drink from George Dickel’s Tennessee Whiskey and sun drop soda I assume. Dickel Drop. If you drink to much…
Prices were a little high, but about what you’d expect. 12 oz of Gumbo was $8.00, My seafood combo with a crab cake, 2 pieces of fish, 2 hush puppies (small and sweet like the waitress), maybe 8 shrimp (didn’t count),and 2 sides were $21.00, and my Dickel Drop was $10.00.
I would recommend this restaurant. I would like to eat there again.

This is a hidden gem. Nestled in the woods located on a dock floating in a beautiful cove. The food was delicious and the service was attentive. We will be back and bring our friends.
