The guy that works up front is friendly and helpful when making recs for slices and pricing is decent for NYC. Pizza is fresh as well. As a born and bred New Yorker, I’d say this was a S tier slice. Highly recommend the pepperoni slice! It’s giving Prince street a run for their money.

I’m a big fan of square pizza on a thick crust and I enjoy this location a lot. The staff is friendly and very helpful and the pizza is absolutely delicious. The hidden gem that I recently discovered that you can get a vodka slice and ask them to put pepperoni on top of it so it’s like your own custom pizza and they offer two different slices of salamis that you can choose from!

Regular pizza not bad, but the name “best pizza in New York” is too big if you don’t have a bathroom in your place

Yea, this is a pretty good square pizza. They’ve got all of the papers on the wall naming them one of the best slices in the city, and while I wouldn’t go that far, I’ll most likely be back for more.

As I was walking around the neighborhood I found this place and it was a nice surprise.
I had the chance to eat a very good slice of a New York style pizza, crusty, warm and tasty.
It’s a small and cozy place and they have many options. So many that it’s not easy to choose, cause all of them looks yummy.
There are a lot of places where you can eat a good slice of pizza and I would say this is one of them.

Village Square pizza is an NYC institution, feeding the locals with an appetite for delicious and pleasing squares for decades. Their emblem of pizza perfection is the pepperoni square, with the circular pieces that accumulate delectable globs of oil and exist in the liminal space of crunchy and meaty, you must give this slice a go. The vodka marries together sweet and savory in a way that makes you question what a slice of pizza is meant to be while collocating your sense of taste into a supreme bliss.

Really good pizza! I tried their signature square pepperoni pizza at SoHo locations and didn’t know it was the same place.
Dough was perfectly cooked, sauce was in point. We really enjoyed pizza and definitely coming back to have other pizzas.

So happy they opened a location in the UWS close to where I work! I’ve had the pizza in their east and west village locations and this was just as amazing. The quality of the pizza is the same. The dough is airy and the bottom is crispy – great combo.

Overrated, the squares remind me of mamma’s too but are no where near as good (in terms of ingredients, size, and texture). The pizza was rather bland, and not too flavorful. Service was sub-par, I asked for my slices not too hot and they came out steaming hot. Do bring cash if you go, if you don’t spend over $10 with a card the surcharge is huge (over $3!). The only positive was the pizza wasn’t too pricey, slices ranged between $3 (cheese slice) to $5 (square slices). The space was also fairly large for a pizza spot, enough space and stools to sit down.
