Stopped by for dinner. The food was good and had decent portion size. I personally liked the curry and would definitely stop by to dine again. The service was also very quick. It is in a grocery store so the tables were more fast food style but not a dealbreaker.

Edited review (10/12/2025): Visited here again for some food and I just wanted to share that the gentleman that took our order seemed really rude for no reason. I ordered a tonkatsu ramen on the hot spicy level and when I received it, it looked like there was no spiciness added to it. I told the gentleman but he rudely scoffs and asks if I tasted it. I was taken aback and said I didn’t but I’m used to ramens that are spicy to look red. As I was trying to put on the shichimi (Japanese spice mixture), he again rudely states that I wouldn’t need any of that. I corrected him by saying I would be fine and sprinkled quite a bit. I returned to my table and again, it turns out that the ramen was not spicy at all. There was a kick but not enough to really call it hot spicy. They also stopped offering pickled daikon too. My boyfriend was unsatisfied with the pork tenderloin katsu bowl as the rice was soggy.
I needed to get something from H-mart and I remembered that the katsu place inside was changed a while back so I asked my boyfriend if he wanted to grab our dinner here. We placed our order first to which the cashier was professional and prompt in ensuring our order was correct. We got the katsu combo while I got the Nagasaki ramen. Once we finished our order, we received a buzzer so we went to grab drinks from Hmart to have with our meal. The ramen came out first and it was filled generously with plenty of broth, noodles, and seafood. I don’t think I have seen this much seafood given in any ramen that I have had. There was small shrimps, two big shrimps, plenty of mussels, one green mussel with shell, squid, and vegetables. There was a lot of noodles too and it was so comforting. My boyfriend was impressed with the katsu and gave it a solid 9.5/10. I learned from an Instagram video that the chef prepares these homemade breadcrumbs from Japan so it is very authentic as you won’t find katsu like this in teriyaki spots.
I asked for my ramen to be made extra spicy but it wasn’t spicy at all, but I’ll just be sure to ask for chili oil or hot sauce on the side too. I also wished they included pickled radish with the ramen and katsu but if you ask then they will provide it. Overall, a very pleasant experience we want to try out their other food items!
There is plenty of seating in the area that is shared between Malri Hyang, Katsu-Mi, and the cafe in there. They also have hot and cold water for you to drink. You do have to bus your own table and there is a spot to drop off dirty dishes.

Tucked inside the H Mart in Federal Way, we were so glad we decided to try this place out. Open for less than a year, we were greeted by friendly, smiling faces, and they answered all our questions. I ordered a bowl of udon and my husband pork katsu. The presentation was nice. My udon was great, with perfectly cooked noodles in a delicious broth. So satisfying! I almost stole my husband’s katsu! The breading was light and the pork inside was thick and sooo tender! Wow! We plan on visiting again because we were told the curry is slow simmered for five hours. Yes please!!

The broth for the udon is made from scratch by the owner.
The udon broth has a rich and deep flavor. The owner is friendly, and the udon noodles are chewy. You can enjoy both tonkatsu and udon at a reasonable price. Chili sauce and soy sauce are available for free, allowing you to add them to your dish as you like.
The beef bowl (beef donburi) is currently on sale for $10.

I tried Katsu-Mi for the first time and it was disappointing. I ordered the mozarella katsu and it was so bland and flavorless. The chicken was dry and had no seasoning. The cheese did not taste cheesy at all. The katsu sauce tasted like alcohol. This one plate was ringing at almost $19. We also tried the chicken katsu curry which was mid. It was like any other chicken katsu curry plate, nothing special. Overall, I personally will not be returning.

Unassuming and tucked away in Hmart, the best bang for your buck katsu in washington. Go here if you’re a katsu fan on a budget but still want good quality.
Rating: 6/7

Katsu-Mi is located in H-Mart. The staff member who took my order was nice. I had the beef bowl. I’m honestly surprised it was this terrible. The broth was super salty(I like salt) and the beef portion was minimal. The price could have been $1 and I’d write the same review. I like to support small businesses, but I won’t give this place another chance.

Had the Pork Tenderloin Katsu and Soba Combo. The pork was very tender and the breading was light/fluffy and crunchy which is how i like it. But i know some ppl prefer different types of breading. Soba was also great. Gives lots of noodles. Definitely will be back
