One of the best restaurants in Hickory. I’ve had lots of different dishes and everyone of them was excellent! The owners are actively involved – one of them being a chef. From a foodie perspective, this place had been spectacular every time we went. They change up the menu all the time and much of the food is locally sourced. Their potato wedges are fire, their double patty smash burger is excellent, the bagel and locks is phenomenal. It tastes homemade because it is!

I have been to North Hickory Market for both lunch and dinner now and I was blown away. The creativity in the meals while still being simple in ingredients if difficult to do but they make it seem so easy. The owners have done a great job creating a comfortable, approachable environment while providing some of the best food in the area. Their menu is super diverse between meals so there is something for everyone, at every price point. Can’t wait to come back to try the homemade bagels for breakfast and work our way down the rest of the menu for lunch and dinner. Highly recommend a trip to North Hickory Market.

Went this time for breakfast. Ordered the breakfast plate for $9.00. The eggs were perfectly cooked. The grits were the best I’ve ever had. The sausage was also stellar. I also ordered an everything bagel. It was toasted nicely with a hefty amount of cream cheese.

Three came in without reservations for brunch, and the staff was very informative and hospitable. The food and service could not have been better – this is only my second experience and I look forward to having breakfast as soon as possible. I’ve heard the bagels are amazing.

Went on a Sunday, reservation is recommended. Got their Syrup & Swine which is 2 thick pieces of liver mush, hash brown patty, syrup and cheese. It comes with potato wedges and this amazing dipping sauce. I also decided to try their chocolate au lait croissant. This was heaven in my mouth! It was homemade, buttery, and melted in your mouth! Portions are huge. Server was Brittney, and she was amazing as well!

I recently dined at The North Hickory Market for dinner, and the experience was nothing short of a gastronomic delight!

Let’s start with the star of the show: the **40oz tomahawk ribeye**. This magnificent cut of meat arrived with an impressive presentation and an aroma that was utterly intoxicating. Perfectly seared to a caramelized crust, each slice revealed a tender, juicy interior that was bursting with flavor. The marbling throughout the steak provided a rich, buttery quality that made every bite a celebration of beefy bliss.

Alongside this meaty marvel were the **jacket potatoes**, which were nothing short of delightful. Fluffy and perfectly baked, they were generously adorned with a melty blanket of cheese, crispy bacon bits that added a savory crunch, and a sumptuous dollop of sour cream that brought everything together beautifully. It was comfort food at its finest!

Next, I was thrilled to discover a **cute covered dish of mac and cheese**. This wasn’t just any mac and cheese; it was a creamy, dreamy concoction topped with a crunchy panko bread topping that added a satisfying texture contrast. Each spoonful was a nostalgic hug that made me feel right at home.

To balance the indulgence, I also enjoyed an **apple walnut kale salad**. The kale was vibrantly fresh and crisp, providing a delightful base for the sweet, juicy apple slices and the earthy crunch of walnuts. Tossed in a light dressing, this salad added a refreshing touch to my meal, making it feel well-rounded and wholesome.

And just when I thought I couldn’t eat another bite, I was treated to a **giant chocolate chip cookie** to take home. Soft and gooey with just the right amount of chocolatey goodness, it was the perfect sweet ending to a fantastic meal. I couldn’t resist savoring it later!

Overall, my visit to The North Hickory Market was a culinary journey filled with rich flavors and comforting dishes. The menu is refreshed daily so be sure to follow them on Instagram @northhickorymarket. Definitely worth the trip as this place has something for everyone! Highly recommended for anyone looking to treat their taste buds!

What a pleasant find! We were very impressed with the variety and quality of the food and the level of service during Sunday brunch. We want to check it out for dinner (and try out more bakery items!) on our next visit. This eatery is a treat and highly recommended!

Upon entering, you place your order at the counter. The menu has some interesting choices. Lunch items are an average $15 and comes with a bag of chips as your side. If you want a different t side, there is an up charge of $3-$5 for macaroni salad, potato wedges, etc.
After you order and pay, they provide you a number and you find a seat. You grab your chips and fountain drink before sitting The tables and chairs are metal. It’s an industrial looking decor. The large room is white with high ceilings and difficult to carry on a conversation because it’s quite loud in there. The food is delivered to you in a basket covered with paper. The dish I had was quite tasty. It was a turkey pita. It had an ample amount of freshly shaved turkey meat and included maple bacon, lettuce, and other flavorful toppings. Environment and dress code are very casual. For me personally, I would grab takeout next time. The food is very good but the atmosphere was too loud when dining with others.

Good little new joint, really cute spot. They’re still in their new phase and figuring out what works best. The initial flow was a little bumpy, but I’m sure they’ll smooth it out with time. The tater wedge was phenomenal! The coffee station could use a bit of improvement, maybe a better setup or more options, but overall it’s a nice place with potential to be great!

First time at the North Hickory Market, got the Syrup and Swine sandwich and good lord as someone from Pennsylvania this is easily one of the best breakfast sandwiches. I substituted white bread for a cheddar bagel and it was phenomenal. 10/10 recommend giving this place a try!
