The reviews said it was hot so I played it safe and went with the medium-plus. I love hot chicken and OMG this one was hotter than I was expecting. So good. The space is great and has a free arcade game to play while you wait. My son loved playing the Simpsons bowling game.

Retro vibe, reminds me of my childhood! Bright, fun, and the staff was SO SWEET!!!
The Etouffee was INCREDIBLE!!!
It’s so hard for me to go to more southern places because of my shellfish allergy. This spot does NOT serve shrimp so it’s completely safe to eat for those with allergies to it!!!!
10/10 this is going to be my new favorite!!!

I love fried chicken. I’m a huge fan of Wingstop, Dave’s & Canes. This place blows them all out of the water. No long wait with tiny little prices like Wingstop. No insane markup like Dave’s. And no limited menu like Canes. They have a good sized menu with lots of variety and their chicken is to die for. It’s so juicy and tender on the inside but crunchy on the outside. In the age of $5 gas & high grocery prices- this is my go to lunch spot where I can enjoy the food and not spend an arm and a leg. The staff is so sweet and kind and they never mess up my order! 10/10

SO GOOD!!! The chicken is great and the fries are amazing! The ranch is really good too. The spice is great—most spice doesn’t taste very hot to my husband but this place has a kick (in a really good way). Highly recommend! We stop whenever we are in the area

I’ve been to this World Famous Hotboys Chicken a few times, and let me tell you, it’s a must-try! The staff is super friendly and the food is absolutely delicious. They serve huge portions, so you can bring home enough for a late-night snack. The menu is huge and has something for everyone. My friends got the Mac & Cheese and the Waffle, and they both loved them. The waffle smelled incredible! I highly recommend Hotboys Chicken, whether you’re a Nashville hot chicken fan or you’ve never tried it before. Trust me, you won’t regret it!

We love spicy chicken and this place did not disappoint at all. The service was great and the food was out quickly which was perfect because we were hungry. The young lady who took our order gave great suggestions and knew the menu really well.
We had the loaded fries medium hot (not too hot with a nice hint of sweet) and the tenders (hot/ medium hot) … pretty hot .

Looking for hot chicken in the Bay Area? I think this is one of World Famous Hotboys newest locations- they have one in Oakland, Walnut Creek, Sacramento and now Novato. Located in a shopping plaza, parking is really easy compared to their other east bay locations. I recently visited Nashville and got their hot chicken and I would say that World Famous Hotboys is up there. The chicken is crispy and juicy and had such a good flavors If you order the hottest level there is a disclaimer and waiver you sign. During the pandemic me and my friends did it as a challenge and it was really hot that it was unenjoyable. This time around me and a friend shared. We got the chicken Sando meal with the level of training wheels (very little spice) along with fries. Their sauce is really good. I got their breakfast burrito at a mild spicy level which wasn’t too hot for my friend. We both got shakes— a vanilla and Neopolitan. Inside it’s so colorful and they even have video games. Service was great and there are tons of different options to choose from like chicken and waffles. If you’re coming from the SF area heading to Novato or Sonoma/Napa Valley, this is a perfect pit stop to eat before or after!

Hands down one of the best fried chicken sandwiches I’ve ever had. Huge and messy as heck, but worth every napkin. Great sauce and slaw. Lived up to the Hotboys hype!
Mine was medium spice and it was decent. I have a high heat tolerance so it was mild but very tasty. Fries have a Cajun-style seasoning on them and are krinkle cut. Tasty, too. My plate was served with an extra side of secret sauce for dipping.
When you order a sandwich you get your choice of a side – I had the fries – but I also added a side of chicken etouffe and it was really delicious.
I also love the theming – 80s and 90s babies will really like it, as well fans of Meow Wolf.
I ordered at the counter, but one couple came in after me and sat down and ordered a their table.
This is now my favorite spicy fried chicken sandwich next to the non-spicy fried chicken sandwich at Belfare in Petaluma.
I’ll be back for sure!!

I had been looking for some soul food near the hotel and the internet gods served me up this place like a hundred feet away.
Small place with plenty of seating with a lot of character. Bright colors, some retro games, and a playlist the folks (and I) that work there can dig.
I got the Mac n cheese loaded baked potato, which isn’t always listed on the menu in case they run out of potatoes. It was so indulgently rich, cheesy, creamy, tangy, and savory. God dang it wa good l. I threw some pickles on the side one some of it too. Don’t sleep on this.
I also got the classic full chicken sandwich. I love the fact they use thighs instead of breast as that dark/light meat mix make the sandwich so much richer and textured. The topping balance was excellent and cut into the heat with some acid and creaminess.
The heat system is unique to them just like some of the dishes themselves. I got medium, and they emphasize medium is HOT not like all caps crazy hot, but it’s easily as hot as if not hotter than Dave’s or other large chains Hot. I personally think Hotboys medium is hotter than Daves’ hot level, and because I keep drawing the comparison, it’s also just way better than Dave’s overall (and Dave’s ain’t bad). I was very happy with the medium heat but could not handle more. If I come back I may even bump down a level.
Bottomless fountain drinks, dope.
Please go here. It’s friggin’ good.
