I moved to MD from TX and you know Texans are proud of their BBQ….Well, y’all have got to try this place. Call ahead if you’re looking for a specific item as this chef keeps his daily items fresh and if it ain’t fresh, he ain’t serving it. The restaurant isn’t much of a glamour shot, but the food makes up for it 10 fold. Get it to go or park at the few chairs and high top, whichever…you’re in for a treat.

The food overall was very good. Beef brisket fell apart when I picked it up with my fork. Amazing. Juicy. Got the half lb with two sides, mac n cheese and yellow rice. The Mac was above average but the rice was pretty plain. Not bad though. The cat fish was a bit lacking in flavor as well. Was $100 for 4 people which seems expensive at first glance but the food was fresh and smoked that morning. Overall good experience.

This was my first time eating at Chef’s Rells. The grilled lamb chops and the sweet potatoes were delicious. The green beans tasted like canned green beans. They were overly salted. The portion of the sides for me spending $ 30.00 was too small. I wanted baked beans, and I noticed all sides were $5.00. I thought that was too much, and I did not know the portion size at that time. My thought was a can in the store, whether I doctor them up or not is not that expensive. This is hopefully something for the chef to think about when servicing his customer. I would go back to try his other dishes. Wishing him much success!!

I got pork ribs the portions are huge delicious smoked flavor. My sides were collard greens and potato salad both had a little sugar which I don’t like but otherwise it was good. I plan to go back to try the stuffed salmon it looked really good!

I’m visiting my Mom at the UofMd rehab and needed to eat dinner. Looked up nearby restaurants and this place had high reviews! I ordered the beef brisket and green beans. Picked up and took back to my room to eat. Both were excellent. Brisket so tender & flavorful and the green beans tender, salty & loaded with flavor. Yummm!!!
